Hey all, I'm a long time VW enthusiast, and also a very part-time poster on the Kombi Club forums.
Due to a variety of reasons - time, money, space etc. - my interest in VWs has been mainly just owning one and getting other people to fix it for me.
Now I finally have a garage and my very own copy of the idiot's guide (which I'm still ploughing through), so I hope this situation will improve
soon!
I own a `73 microbus which my dad bought the day we moved to Australia in 1988. It's gone so long without having a proper name, it would feel weird
to give it one now.
(It's had a bit of work done since that picture was taken, but it's still a lot shabbier than I'd like it)
My newest addition to the family is Dustin, the 1970 type 3 fastback. (Gold star to anyone who can work out where he got his name!)
I bought him just a few weeks ago. He looks worse than he is (partially because I've stripped the interior) and mainly needs a few cosmetic touches
and a tune-up.
So I look forward to spending some time here!
Welcome aboard the starship.
Welcome Lonepiper, nice Bus and Fasty, good luck with it.
Did it get it's name because when you started pulling things out, there was dust in everything?
Cheers, Rob.
welcome to here!
Thanks everybody!
Nice guess, oldskoolguy, but try again

Yay! Another Type 3!
Welcome LonePiper.
The Kombi looks pretty straight too.
