bajachris88 - August 5th, 2008 at 10:12 AM

Little bit of footage, but only a tiny taste of what the weekend entailed. Was a good show and a blast.

Was only there for a little bit, dropped around for a few events whilst road tripping back and forth between Coffs Harbour and Kempsey.

Ah, Glen,
so that was your tharsher with the "tan" rear guards?

I saw it run on Friday,
not bad.
Tell us about the 100 dollar 1915?

VWCOOL - August 6th, 2008 at 09:26 AM

yeah, the rear guards are bare metal, gone rusty! I bought the engine as a 'hardly runner' dual-port 1300 for spare parts (crank, rods and flywheel) for another 1916cc engine I am having built. When I pulled the carby and tinware off, it turned out to be an old 1916. All the ports were filled with what looked like baked grease but I got it running on the ground and although the heads were choofy (loose) it didn't blow any smoke. So I cleaned the ports, had Pobjoy machine the head faces clean, fitted new exhaust valves and all new springs, fitted a new main seal (it also leaked) and as you saw, it goes real good!!
