Look closely at the wheelie bars - nice 's' shape.

This is the result of a 6500rpm launch and drop the clutch!

1916baja - October 16th, 2012 at 04:59 PM

Shit ben i reckon yours from 2011 is about the same as that....

vw54 - October 16th, 2012 at 05:58 PM

Is that YOU really driving or was it the substitute driver ???????

who taught you that

VWMA Editor - October 16th, 2012 at 05:58 PM

Actually my aim was to see how high I could go, but after I bent the wheelie bars on this run I had to settle down for fear of breaking them:lol:

Surprisingly it never came down hard and drove straight without ever having to lift the foot! However, slipping the clutch produced the better times (7.81s for Ashley) as opposed to wheelies (8.0s me).

Westi's wheelie was twice as high in Sydney without wheelie bars, only stopped by the exhaust but his landed hard and bend the front end, not to say hurting brads back... Lol

I will go one better than that...... my exhaust goes forward , so when the oval stood up at the Sydney Jamboree 2012 the rear apron & bumper stopped it along with the engine crossmember scraping rubber from the track surface . Still ran a 10.6sec pass and beat the mazda

Has this turned into a "my wheelie's better than yours" now?

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - October 17th, 2012 at 07:42 AM

That shot of your car Wayne highlights the need for some detailing and cleaning of the floor pans and suspension lol

Nice shot none the less!!!

Best wheel stand for is still Aaron's effort from Warwick 2008 - wheels up all the way past the 60ft mark!!!
