Nopey!...Just bogo EMPI drops.
Added a tiny bit of negative camber and thats about it (historic tyres don't like too much camber)

Currently it's just a small diameter merged drag system with a tuck under silencer. The original bugpack silencer has been replaced with the type of
thing you would normally see on a Formula Vee.
Future plans are to mount the electric cooling fan under the car to free up the engine bay, then have a custom 'teepee' style merged system above
the engine to make the exhaust as short as possible (the higher the rpms-the shorter the exhaust)...that'll be a wild looking engine!
Will have to shroud the carbs due to the heat for that one.

Here's the motor as it stands...Stock oil cooler has been removed and replaced with a pair of external coolers either side of the gearbox.
lightweight race alternator, 2250cfm 12" electric fan (the back of the aluminium fan shroud is V-shaped to split the air to each side of the engine
and to stop the air from cavitating), plus four 3" hoses feeding cool air from under the car, straight on to the heads!
Originally I had the stock cooling system combined with a single external oil cooler...With the electric fan/ram air combo (that everyone said
wouldn't work  ) the oil temperature is now 10 degrees
cooler.
The alternator and electric fan use around 1.5bhp, but I can live with that as the electric fan saves over 20bhp over the stock VW fan at the
7500-8000rpm the engine runs at

Just a few queries;
I read some time back your front end is balljoint. Is that setup still the same?
What sort of bottom end is the motor running? counter weighted crank and carillos? Surely the pistons are little special too?

From memory it is a balanced crank with carillo rods; mahle barrels and pistons, with a FK10 cam with some nice head porting. It was built by a UK
formula vee guru so it's put together right

You say the oil temperature dropped 10 deg, did you also measure cylinder head temperature before and after?

Hi
The front beam is simply a stock balljoint beam with stock rubber bushes...nothin fancy needed
The internals are 69mm counterweight crank, Engle FK10 Cam, carillo rods and stock 77mm Mahle pistons. The tops of the pistons have been notched to
give clearance to the valves due to the large valve lift and the top edge of the pistons have been angled (domed) to reduce compression and create
more turbulence. Finally as the stock size exhaust valves are very close to the edges of the barrels, the barrel near the valve has been machined to
provide a bit more flow around that part of the valve.

Unfortunately we never got as far a fitting a sender in the head, so the head temps are a mystery.
At the last rebuilt the engine company said that the engine looked like new, so I guess all is well.
I've bought a laser temperature meter which we can point at various parts of the engine as soon as I come off track. We'll also use this on the
tyres, brakes and twin oil coolers and make changes as necessary.
