Noob from Brisbane

Hi all
From Brisbane and just joined up on the forum, don’t have a VDub in the garage at the moment, used to have a nice 71 Super years ago, now the call of the VW is coming back worse than ever. Thinking of Type 3's but stuck on pros and cons with the different models, Notchback is better choice…..? Fastback is better choice……? Square back is better choice…….? New and secondhand parts availability, customisation, car choice availability,
I have been researching and looking to do a mild custom resto driver
I know everyone has their opinions, but they also have their experiences,
Cheers to all, Shaun

Thanks Pauly,
I have been stalking the Bad Little Buggers VW Club site looking for upcoming events, saw it was postponed due to weather.
As far as Type 3's,seems the Squareback wagons are the most common, followed by the Fastbacks, then the Notchbacks, guessing due to production figures and this would influence pricing market. New and secondhand parts availability with the different models and pros and cons of restoring or working with the different models,
Cheers,Shaun

Also could ask a question regarding Type 3's,is there any problem buying an auto and converting it to manual apart from the obvious pedals, etc, basically is there no difference in the tunnel, guessing they have clutch cables so cable mount would be present? not sure what I have missed so please bear with me
