Occasional noise after replacing starter
Replaced the starter in my '68 Type1 with a recoed unit. All well except after a week, the starter is making a horrible noise sometimes when
starting. Sounds like the starter gear is clashing with the flywheel. On reading the Bentley manual, the only thing I didn't do was greasing the
starter shaft bushing. Before I pull the starter and grease the bush, is there anything else I should be doing?
Cheers.........Wayne

Looks like you did everything the right way, i.e., read the manual AFTER you've done the job.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Hah! I read the idiot manual to do the job and it didn't mention greasing the bush
