Type 3 Chassis swap.

Does anyone know if you can swap an early squareback body (short bonnet, swing axle, bullet blinkers etc) onto a 71 fastback chassis. Therefore giving me IRS, disc etc without having to update the early chassis. I am aware for rego purposes it would be registered as a 71. Also will the early front seat fit on the later chassis seat rails. Anything else I need to consider?

Or you can bolt in the later disc brake front end and the irs rear,

Or just remove the front drums and stubs and put on the disc brake set up.

Hello,

No, they won't fit.

BTW you will have to cut/weld the brackets for the rear engine hanger to support the engine-tranny.

Yes And the rear engine brackets after weldind have a problem with metal weakness after..

If you plan on running large engine.. i suggest a little more strength.

It can be done....

I would add tranny horns to the IRS rear axle

OR

Add IRS brackets to the swingaxle to gain tranny support
