timid timing mark
I have just donned the work gear and pre greased the hands when I look at the back of my 77 bus and find no obvious timing marks. There is a mark on
the pulley but where is it on the engine. Generator is off to the right hand side and there is a peice of tin attached over the pulley but no numbers
I was expecting. Any ideas?

I know what you mean....
My Haynes manual reads "The timing mark should read 0 degrees on the scale..." and shows a neat picure of a degree scale which is *not*
there on my bus either.

Hi
They are supposed to have a plastic timing scale bolted to the fan housing, I’m not sure if you can buy these anymore, if not someone might lend you
theirs as they unbolt very easily. You will also need to find the correct timing mark for your vehicle as they do vary depending on if you have a twin
or single vacuum unit.

Hmm, I was hoping this was not the case. Should have checked this before soldering myself a yew bewt timing light.

early vehicles had a nicely printed scale of markings which were easily "cleaned" off,
2L motors had a plastic scale, with the markings moulded in, both these scales were fixed to the fan housing by the top & left hand bolts that
hold the plastic mesh cover for the fan I dont think you can get them anymore.
Please, I need drivers side window regulator (winder mechanism) for my '54  |
