Its been a while since I have given everyone an update on my project.

Well so far I have purchased a 2nd hand 1600tp from BrisDubba.

I have sorted out my seat rails for the fixed seats. They just need to get sand blasted and painted.

I did have the brakes bled but my resivor setup went foul on me, so i am haivng another look at it. Also looking at making the tubing a larger diameter out of the resivor.

I have also routed some more wires through the standard stop for etra guages, tacho etc.

Just need to get off my back side and get things moving, but sadly work is a bit made at the moment...

Matt.

Will update with pics soon.......

Well I have got myself a 1600tp engine, thanks to Brisdubba, just have to get the tinware and carbi sorted and i will have a trial fit up.

The brake fluid resivour idea that i had can to a halt after i bled the brakes and let it sit for a while. The fluid ate through the bonding that i used and started to weep out. luckily i caught it in time. I also found that the tubing that can out of the resivour was to small in diameter so i have come up with another brain wave. I am going to fiber-glass it this time and see how i go, last resort is to knock up a aluminium one and use brass taps, but i'll try all avenus first.

i got some plates welded onto the seat frames and fitted up my fixed buckets. just need to get the frames cleaned and painted and then they will get fitted.

Still lots to do, and i can't do anything at the moment as i am half way around the world, so i am waiting in anticipation to get it finished and fired up.

Soon hopefully though.....

Matt.

thought i would throw up some snaps of my pup as she has been distracting me lately, obedience school, etc

Yep that is probably about 4 years worth of dust.....

Recently seperated, so now I have more money and time to spend on her, this year will be the year that i finish it.

Cheers,

OK here are some ore snap shots that i took this morning.

Got the throttle setup yesterday, so i fitted it after work. Drove it out of the garage this morning and turned it around......

It seems to pull well with the new clutch, it is just going to take a bit of learning on how to drive it. Is a bit different from the 6cyl boat anchor (TD42 Patrol) that i drive every day.

The drivers side seems to be sitting at the height that i want, but the passanger side is still a bit high. Hopefully it will sit down after i get it on the road and go over a few bumps, etc.

Hi All,

Well i drove the old girl out of the garage over the Easter Weekend and washed off the layer of dust.

Then my mate came over and took some out door snaps. The colour is more acturate in the photos, but there is still a fine layer of dust on the paint work.

It goes over to paint and panel to get some things fixed up soon, then to outrage motor trimmers on the gold coast to get trimmed.

might be on the road for this years warwick racing....as i have been intending for the last 3 years.....

Hi,

Long time since my last update.

I have had the interior done by Willem at Platinum Trimming on the Gold Coast, and it has come up a treat. Photos aren't the best as it is stuck in the garage with the engine out.

Caught the engine before it threw a rod, so now I am in the process of a full rebuild....

Hoping to get it to Warwick this year, but then again I said that last year....

Engine rebuild nearly complete. Had to get the case line bored, the crank and rods done and new heads.....

It is a home rebuild job, switching between 3 books and the bug me videos, but I think that I have done it all to specifications....

It is running a standard cam, stroke and bore, but I decided to go with bugpack heads from the states, standard bore with 40 intake and 35 exhaust ports to help it breathe better and suppose to be slightly stronger than the stock heads.

Is going to be running the single 36 IDF webber and extractors so hopefully it will have a few more hp than stock otherwise the heavier clutch that I put in will not be worth it

Well I have the roadworthy and also got the old girl tuned and dynoed.

She is putting out a massive 51hp at the wheels, which isn't too bad considering it is a stock 1600tp internals, including cam, just running larger intake and exhaust valves, a single idf carb with 28 jets and a set of extractors....

I was told that it is up 11hp from a stock 1600tp which I can't complain about.....just happy that the engine didn't explode, I did rebuild it after all....

So all I have to do now is raid the bank to pay for the rego and she is finally on the road, after 10 years!!

Hopefully Santa will be good to me and it will happen all before Christmas!

Well today I went and got her new plates, so she can offically drive on the road, legally.

Another bug hits the roads......

Still a couple of little things to get done before I can say that she is completely finished but at least I can drive her around....
