mmm- sorta different from sprints cos the 'spaces' are much closer to the middle hub rather than at the outer edge of the rim. Not really
like rostyles either for the same reason (mine only look so spokey because of the way I painted them - when you paint rostyles 'normally'
they do look very very similar to sprints although the 'straighter' spokes are a giveaway...).
These wheels are 15 in or 14 in diameter? I have a suspicion they could be 14s? And alloy? And 6 inches wide?
........suit a beetle best?

I am pretty sure they are a 14x6 they were intended for a VW based fibreglass "sports car" sitting on a mid 60's pan. The centres
appear alloy from the corrosion and the outer is steel (there is a little surface rust). They may well be on the market soon.

If the centers is Alloy then i think they are some made by John Sabidusi, a few years ago.
He made several sets with different centers and was always experimenting, with different stuff.
He was a wizz with crankshafts and used to counterweight and off set grind them. Jak Rizzo has one of Sabs cranks in his engine at the moment
Unfortunatly he was killed in a mining accident a while ago. He used to live in Mittagong
Sven you say you have seen several sets are they available

Only found 5 so far but there is a large amount of stuff in the owners garages. I even pick up original VW service manuals Type 2 circ.1959 and VW
engines circ.1969

Yes I think your right Dave, look like a set of Sab's wheels. 14x6 is what he made them in, alloy centre and chrome steel rim.

yeah Boris has a set of his wheels, but there different to these ones.
They were never finished and i dont know why but as you say Sab always liked 14 Inch wheels for some reason.
Maybe it was the better selection of tyres back then.
Sabs stuff still comes outta the wood work.

i think they are Keel wheels, they were made in australia (possible south australia) in the 60's. Keel also made wheels in similar and different
styles for other makes of cars.
if you are interested in selling them, please send me an e.mail or call me on 02 9489 3603.
