Its a shame, i was really hoping to turn my 64 beetle into somthing similar, roof chop, beam extension, but maybe running a set of small bikini style motorcycle fenders just for road use, i have a feeling though this car has a 4 inch body drop and 4 inch top chop, i would just go the 4 inch roof chop. Anyone else know where i can find pictures of volksrods in australia on australian roads???

There was a (very shmick, show-quality) fenderless '32 Ford on the Melbourne-Geelong Rd. last weekend, so I'm guessing you can get registered without mudguards in Victoria, at least.

Nope. Firstly, a lot of rods are on Street Rod rego (kinda like club rego, with some differences), so dont get that and regular rego mixed up. Secondly, Street Rod rego and regular rego requires all 'fenderless' rods to run at least cycle fenders (see pic below). Now some rods seem to have problems with these falling off after rego check has been done each year  But LEGALLY, you gotta run at least cycle guards.
