What do you do about the differiental.. do you upgrade it to the super differ? also do you change out the gears to better gears? i'll have mine as a street rod with street tires so im not sure if im suppose to change the differential and the gears out.. would like some inpute n help.

i had a NA EJ20 in the stock 85 transporter with a 4 spd. Blew a gear right out of the box housing after about a year or so. however i dunno how the previous owner drove it before me. I would go back pull the box out and put better gears and a super diff in it. Also might turbo next time as i heard then can handle the extrapower with those mods. . . . SAVE MORE MONEY IN THE LONG RUN!

If you plan on putting big chunks of power through it,,, then maybe talk to someone in the know about some "Albins" gears & shafts & maybe a "peloquin" diff for it

i just did all that to mine & so far so good,,, but that`s after blowing a gearbox/diff nearly every month for the last year or so :-)
