Bathurst Globes/ ATS Classics

G'day

Changing over to 4x130PCD, and really want some bathurst globe wheels put on with some Pirelli P7 rubber, but does anyone know where you can get ATS wheels here in australia, because I havn't been able to find a dealer.

I do know there is a Performance wheels brand but the widths arn't that ideal, but have to find out about the offests, I know ATS wheels are +34 offset with 5.5inch width

you'll be lucky to find many ATS sets in aus
they're big in europe though

all the VW 4stud ROH range hotwire, jellybean, globe, hurricane etc have shitty offsets

what car did they honestly use to come up with that offset? cos it dont suit anything be it strut/beam disc/drum bug/type3 etc unless u like baja ride height to stop gaurd rubbing or have flared gaurds

Hi

ATS are really nice, you can get them new on Ebay UK for about $1600 including freight for 4 wheels.

For that amount of money you might be better off with Simmons wheels, they are 3 piece and repairable.

A good friend of mine does all the Simmons wheel repairs and also owns all the old style Simmons patterns up to 15 inch, his daughter has a really sweet 1500 bug with Simmons wheels on it.

Found the simmons wheels website,
http://www.simmonswheel.com.au/wheel-range.html

these look like the wheels that are on Grant Cook's hillclimb car, on the site though it says it's only 16 inch, but I'll give that number a call steve

Hi

I think the wheels on Grants car are Performance wheels, like the ones you posted pictures of above.

Because Retro wheels now own the patterns to all Simmons wheels 15 inch and below, Simmons don't show them on their website.

Steve

These are the same style as the ones on Retros daughters car.

Those could also be the 15 x 7 performance ones,
judging by the fake screws that they had to simulate a three piece wheel.

You can machine a fair bit off the back, but not easy to fit under a stock guard,
so perhaps they are Simmons'.

I have Performance wheels under my car,
but had o machine the backs,
use a narrow rotor, and narrow the front beam to get them under.

6" rims under stock guards

I think I might just get the V-force wheels, value and suitability are hard to beat!

I have had a few seat of the simmons like the ones above, c--t to clean. Go for the B45's, better looking wheel and go for 16" to fill out the guards more.

I personally love those... Thats what im hoping to get, as i dont really want to fork out the cash to go the Steve carter option - which is much cooler, but alot more work + $$. $1000 extra for a disc rear upgrade is enough for me.

the 10k challenge beetle used these wheels and apparently they look really good :)
