G'day all. Been a while since I posted on here. Actually about 4 years! Well I'm still at it and thought I'd start to trickle a few snaps of where my ride's at. It's been with my mate in Toowoomba all this time and unfortunately I think he lost interest quite early on in the piece. We've done quite a lot to it and it's a lot closer than it was to being ready. I'm grateful for the help he's given. Anyway, as of a few weeks ago it's back with me, so hopefully I'll start putting in some solid hours.

I'll put up some more photos later. There's quite a bit more done than what's being posted now... but there's still a lot to be done to get this old beastie back on the road.

Thanks buddy. I'm a huge fan of patina and the rat look, and that was and still is the plan for my ride. But think it's going to have to have some sort of paint work to finish it off. Realistically I'd like to have the body completely solid, in great shape, and bog free. So if I want to spend some serious coin on a good paint job i can with out the added hassle of major body work.

you have certainly cut some steel there

a couple of those last photos get across how solid and "in shape" it has become

Like your thinking re get a sloid base, drive it and if you want to go down the painted road, you have something worth paining

I just read through your saga.
The old red car you cut up has indications of a car I owned between 1970 and 1977 and which I've never forgotten.
It was originally the blue shown under the rear seat area and I first painted it a horrible Caterpillar bright yellow which appears under the door hinge areas and then the VW wattle yellow colour but probably didn't remove the doors that time. I had a dark brown vinyl roof fitted but yours seemed to be black.
In the end rampant rust and an increasing family forced me to sell it.
Do you have any idea of the history of your (now) donor car?
