beetle gearboxs irs
hey all just wondering about gearboxs im about to buy 1 , have a 62 and going to put in 12a rotary, i have a standerd box in now from a 1200 motor.
can i get a irs box and bolt it up to my older pan, or do you need a adaptor, thanks for any feed back im just learning all the bug stuff, cheers

the box will go in OK but it is the axles that are the problem
You will need to weld on some IRS brackets
What are you doing for brakes up front?
By the time you muck round it would be a LOT easier to put it on a converted semi auoto apn or a 76 pan
Would be a LOT easier to go a new pan
?

hey mate
am putting disks up front havent bought them yet
is the 76 pan mean im getting coill springs in the front ,,
will that pan just bolt strait up to my car.
if all i have to do is weld on some brackets then thats ok, welding is not a prob..

76 is torsion bar
Just comes with ball joint front end, discs up front, dual braking circuit, IRS etc etc
