Sound deadening material

Hi does anyone have any suggestions for sound deadening material, other then the very expensive options such as Dynamat?

There's about a dozen threads about it if you search for them

I got hold of RAAMmat. Way cheaper than Dyna-crap and seems to do a good job. I even took a vid and put it either on photobucket or Utube to hear the diff btw a covered floorpan half and an uncovered pan half :)

Think there's a link in my resto thread towards the last few pages.

The Resomat should be good too as it's used in the Queens Roller

I used RAAMat after seeing an independent test a few years ago.
It beat Dynomat and was a lot cheaper.

They are old VWs, they are meant to be deafening inside, it's part of the charm.
you can actually tell there is a running engine in the vehicle.

Until I got my last bus I didn't really buy in to the whole sound deadener. Previous dubs didn't have it, this one does. Big difference a sheet of tinfoil and some black goop makes to the noise level. Only fitted to the inside of the sliding door, the opposite panel and the front of the engine hump but big difference even with noisy exhaust and twin carbs. Way quieter than my last one with stock exhaust and single carb.

Mine is generic stuff, not dynamat.
