I thought the new cage regs required 2 bolts per join ?

What motor is going into it ?

hope not.will see..anyway if its just the bolts should be easy to do.....all i had to do was send them a sheet filled out by the builder.it didnt say much bout how many bolts...i did give him the new cams manual and he does build them for escorts...

engine should be here next couple of days..stan built it...his crank , sump & twin plugs ,48 idfs,cb 2289 cam with 1.4 rockers,cb lightweight lifters,mag case,cheapo 1 5/8 exhaust with 2 1/4" muffler,custom darren krewenchuck ported street elims,44x37.5,10.5:1 comp..yadda yadda,should be a big jump from my last combo...it ended up 16mm narrower then a stock 1600....

damn floods have delayed my engine getting here...my first event is on 31st of march

Looking good Chris.
Single bolt is possible with M10 but get a pre-logbook scrutineer to come and visit.
It is a sure and easy way to know ti will be passed for logbook.

i have only raced on them for one weekend from the softest to the second hardest settings.soft had to much body roll and i was picking up the inside rear wheel and it was spinning even with the zf so i went straight to the second hardest setting and it was so much better, night and day better.so im hoping they work even better now with the cage..my first event back will not be a big tester for them as the corners are slow and tight...but i will post some vids up...

yes i hope so...darren was very good to deal with and he suggested that i use that cam for my application.they flowed 201cfm at .550"-205cfm at .600" & have very good port velocity..... which he aims for....im trying aircooled.net alloy pushrods..if they dont work out ill kick swear and strike things then order some of jpm's alloys,,too much $$$$ though...

I thought it wasn't worth it even when I was being sponsored (I have Dyno results to prove it did nothing).......so my opinion hasn't changed Chris.

I think you will be very happy with that combination, especially with Darren's head work.
He has always been a good souce of knowlege in my tinkering.
Make sure you have some good valve springs in there.
The original duals that come on the CB heads wont hold pressure long if you use 7000 or more.

Chris,

Everythings looking pretty sweet, especially like the home brew sway bars.

any chance you have a picture of how you've attached the front sway bar links to the lower trailing arm?

Looking for ideas to improve the existing whitline mounts I currently have.

Cheers
Brendan

I am still impressed by the lateral thinking to come up with this design of sway bar for a bug.

So still off the lower shock mounting bolt? I'm trying to come up with another way. I have got enough thread length to be confident that they are secure. May have to remove the shock mount bolt/pin & put in a longer one at a later stage.
