AVD website homepage spam - dont need it thanks
the Adchoice controlled box at the top of the homepage where the sponsors normally are I get a 'you have 1 new message'...
Ok, I think the site's had a useful upgrade, but no, its one of those 'YOU HAVE WON !!! 50,000th visitor!!! flashing, annoying, cant get
rid of it..
WTF!
What's next? Shouty ads which pop up and cant be turned off when you select the latest topic?

thats what I thought, maybe a trojan on my pc is hijacking that box, but then I saw that the box is controlled by Adchoice, so are they slipping them
in?

It appears this problem is only you and i might suggest you run and anti virus and pop up blocker on your PC.
You must have been looking at naughty stuff and picked up a virus on the way

thats what protection is for 
on the subject though, download adblock pro and setup the data base subscription for blocking ads. The internet will look like it did at CERN where it
was invented!
No ads at all plus it gives you a block option if any do come up not that I have ever needed to use it. Even youtube has no ads.
look at my ebay for example.

yep, updated antivirus and did a clean, seems to have stopped it. For a minute there I thought the forum operators had sold out ! my apology.
As for looking at 'naughty stuff', none of us look at naughty stuff, do we?

no nothing here either..
I never go to the home page, also My computer is scanned a few times a day for viruses and has a lot of protection
pop up stoppers etc...
I do visit a site that has that You are the 500,000 visitor and won an iphone...lol
I can look at that site for add free for $19.99us...lol
