I finally took the 52 bug to the track, well air strip for our first race in it. We turned the boost down to 12ish, didn't change any tuning. Added some race fuel & raced old school, didn't use stage brake etc. No burn out. Funny American car with the stick shift on the wrong side 馃檪 ran a 8.825sec, 1.745 60FT, reaction .387.
the VW drove very good, I only hit the 6300rpm shift light in first , didn't notice until we watch the video. 馃槀 felt heaps good.

It does take a bit of getting used to LHD, normal driving easy but racing you go back to your reflexes. I don't have window winders to worry about at least!!

52 Split Bug 1st test run on the 1/4 mile. Temp got to 26* today it was great .
well I took the beast out today the 52 split to have a go and try to get use to the left hand drive my arms a bit short and I'm short bit hard to reach over to third gear did a 13.095 sec pass on the 1/4 at 185.33K/h Sydney. It likes eating fan belts as well it shredded 2 and flew one of and flipped it twice. Had 6 runs goes good it is fun when you are able to reach the throttle and 3rd gear correctly.

We guess that rose was just improving her driving to keep the times coming down.

We were boosting the alternator and the last run on sunday we were boosting and oiling the alternator 馃お

it may have been leaking boost and oil on the alternator as the turbo is sitting above it

yes it was, we thought it was a slight oil leak from the turbo oil return line, but turns out it was leaking from the flange on the turbo where it held together.馃お

2014 pit report on the 1952 split Turbo bug
Well we took the bug for another positive day out at Sydney drag way , Nothing has really changed on the bug.
Rose has improved a second, since with first took the bug to the track .
Back in August 2013 rose did a 14.932 first race , then the best that day was a 13.095@115.15MPH
now April 2014 at Sydney drag way she did a PB of 12.002@114.49 the only thing that has changed is that Rose has improved heaps in Driving the Left Hand drive bug to gain a Second as the MPH Speed is the same

Paradise Motorsport built great engines, as the engine was built way back in 2005 and the last owner was doing 10sec passes.
We have done about 36 passes with a lot of missed gear changers in between ,
Racing all sorts of cars even the big guys.
we just turned the boost down and added race gas.
The best thing about buying a 10sec bug is that it gives you something to aim for knowing that you don鈥檛 have to spend a heap of money on improvements to get there, Just turn up the Boost 馃槈
and having heaps of fun at the track in the meantime .
We all know it's hard to keep a 10sec car doing Constance times.
If Rose just went out and run a 10sec pass where would the fun be in that , you would miss out on all the fun in-between and then how much money would you have to spend to improve your 10sec times.
We just do it for a hobby and the fun

People may not know but Rose is relatively new to drag racing.
lots of the guys we talk to at the racers would be clad if their cars could be doing 12sec 馃槉

Had a day out at Gunnedah air strip on the 1/8th mile
2 day event, Rose only raced on the Sun 3 practice runs and 3 rounds won 6 out of 6 races came first in B class
