Steve, I spent a lot of time over those colours. The blue is a Mercedes colour called....wait for it...'DARK BLUE' ❗

Side panels are VW...New Beetle 'HARVEST MOON".

Is that a tacho in the dash centre , and if so is it a VDO unit that matches the speedo or something else

It's a VDO tacho, ex. 356. It does match something else.....the 356 engine and brakes.😁

Remember when I managed to get hold of a Cabriolet semaphore [very rare], and the bitch at US customs made me pull all my parts apart, and tested them for explosives.🤪

If there's a run on in the new year - south of Sydney, I will bring the Cab. along. It hasn't been on the road for over 30 years, so there's some catching up to do.

I've given it a 'buzz' down the freeway, and it is quite happy at 110....and a bit more, if need be.😁

Yes I remember - but also remember when they pulled Fxxknuckle aside and took him away to interrogate him- only problem we had with that- they let him go.Wade and I still piss ourselves with some of the stuff you got up to.Was it you or Barry that scored 356 brakes?

Only cut the engine tin-ware, and match it up with the 36hp tin-ware, to fit the opening in the body. Had to do a bit of 'bashing' though [luckily I was a panelbeater in a previous life], and re-shape the rocker covers - so the valve clearances can be done, without removing the engine. It's a tight fit.👍
