No there weren't any panel vans in the show area. Didn't trawl the carpark so there could have been one out there but highly doubtful.
You'll just have to finish yours and bring it up.

yeah with a bit of luck both boris and myself should have the panel vans finished for next year........fingees and everything else crossed.

as far as i can find there are less than 10 genuine
aussie panel vans left in captivity...( complete ) out of the
less than 500 produced. 65 and 66 build years.
There are some fakes and some imports also.
they can be identified by the body tag behind the spare tyre with a prefix of PV. along with a few other things .
Value wise !!!!... if there are 1000 squarebacks left does that make the panel van worth 100 times more..????
i would like to hope so but i dont think so...

might not be a fake...although that is most likely...
could be an import...
the aussie ones are 65 and 66 only... with the PV prefix
thats the easiest way to tell....

Not original doesn't neccessarily mean its not cool. As original value goes that ones definately never gunna be concourse but as a basis for a really sweet, lowered type 3 rod that thing has some real potential.
First thing to go would have to be those wheel trims though.

Agree, someones unfinished project can be a bargain.
Coolness is in the eye of the beholder, buyer or seller.
$2,500 isnt a bad price if it has minimal rust (depending on how minimal).

If I didn't already have a nice unmodified Notch I'd probably want one. My cars over the years have been everything from close to showroom spec right through to overly modified. I hate seeing really original cars chopped and messed with, but if they've already been changed then customise all you want. As the saying goes ...They're only original once.😁
Good luck with the hunt for an original panel, If one hits my radar I'll let you know.

I need some help in my search for pics of australian built type 3 panelvan body tags.
I know this is going to be a very small collection but anyway !!!!
from what i can determine from Aarons list there are 14 known cars and of the 14 cars 3 have been scrapped.
pv075,pv0110,pv0114,pv0132,pv0133,pv0147,pv0172,pv0189,
pv210,pv238,pv370,pv423,pv433 and pv437.
I have pics of 7 tags (see below) and would like to get them all if possible......

Its a shame there weren't more built. As much as I'd like to own one it would be incredibly hard to part with all those extra dollars to enter the 'original' PV club. BTW I have nothing against fakies if they are done well with quality repop pv window inserts. When they are flat skinned like that black one for sale I can't help wondering what's under there, if any bad work is gonna come back to haunt you. If I had squareback I'd seriously consider using an infill window in the back two and keeping pop-out glass in the middle two. I've seen a few pics like that from uk and Europe and think it looks cool.

Love the extracab look, and that under a parked truck frontend is definitely distinctive!
Knock the trunk lid down a bit for visibility, chuck some rod lights on, wheel align and she'll be right. Ultimate Type 3 ratrod ute!
