This is a poll to settle a dispute between me and boozer with what is a better on road car
now when i say on road im mean betwen a golf and a baja keeping in mind that a baja also works well on road
so its between a baja and a golf
which is a better on road car? its a stupid question but i have to proove boozer wrong!

Note: I dont think that baja's are bad in any way i just think golf are better suited for on road use, and i dont wish to knock baja's in any way.

no they don't, they amplify the VW's already good offroad characteristics by giving more guard room, less weight and so on.

ahh, the golf is 'basically' stock standard. have changed the plugs/leads, and it has racing shocks in it. but it can get up and go when it needs to.
i'm waiting for dad to allow me to change the exhaust and maybe even a turbo if i can find one to suit

When i build mine, im gonan have a 2ltr with a turbo, but the good thing is that i have 3 golf to put into 1😀

I have driven a new CV8 monaro, and I can tell you my Baja get's more traction off the line in the wet than it does in the dry. And having driven golfs and higher performance LSD FWD cars, I can safely say a golf would not beat a HSV off the mark. Not if the HSV driver is trying anyway. :P

go golfs!!! We have a GTI mk1 and it rules. It doesn't have that much traction when u plant it but if you cruise it's fine😎 We are planning one of these days to make it twin motor i've seen it done before and it looks awsome

nah, it actually can do pretty well when it needs to. the cv8 would kill it (i know that already), but contray to some beliefs it does better than u would expect.

Thats true I have WANKERS try and Drag me all the time, when I'm driving my XR8. Sometimes when there is a car Load of them, I just say Don't dream you LOOSERS and clean BLOW them away.
Also since my wife has a 96 Mk3 Golf and I drive it sometimes I know how Gutless they are compared to a V8. And to be perfectly honest they handle well but they arn't very comfortable to drive. That's why we are looking for another V8 Falcon for her. 🙂

Seriously though, it's obvious the golfs will win this poll. Afterall, the golf was in the top 5 of the most produced cars of all time. Whereas baja's are made by individuals, so there aren't that many of them. More golfs means more votes.
We need people who have owned both to vote, like Andrew. And I'm guessing he went the Baja vote.

now i have always said that if a mini (classic not the bmw rape) was aircooled it would be the second best car on earth.. and i guess that the golf is a step down from that dream, making it third to a baja/buggie..
i guess there is something fantastically appealing about a car that wants to go offroad and you feel like you are doing it an injustice on tarmac.. i dunno golfs are good but its no contest

Well Golfs are nice but they are Mass produced. Most Bajas are home made with the builders own touches, and you will never see 2 Bajas that are same. 😉

i like golf's, any model or year they look great and you can do them up like animals and also the golf r32 is coming out soon, and my dad has 2 ones a 95 vr6 and the other one is a 85 cabrio with 17in rims but hes selling that one 🙁🙁 i dont want him to ohh yeahh and it also starred in girls just wanna have fun coz we baught it off universal studios from the states and it sed wat movie it was in soo yeahh GO THE GOLF!!
