Anyone following the rugby?

Suck eggs to New Zealand.
:P

Kai.A. ·

yeh, i've watched most of the games so far, even got to one at telstra stadium....

tough call on tonights game, i think i'll go for france, i don't like the way the poms play their rugby.... :puke

kai

bugboymatt ·

Go the poms..............................:bounce

bus914 ·

the poms would be watching tonight's game from home if the Welsh could kick straight.😀

Andy42 ·

The Poms had better have their ticket booked as they go home tomorrow😀 Aussies All the way. Is there anything we are not good at???? Pretty good for a bunch of convicts😀😀😀

KOM123 ·

Go you good things 🙂

vw54 ·

I wanna Wanna B a WAlla Walla B

Go U good Things....

Well NZ was our toughest opposition........................ Bring on the POMMIES

zac_smits ·

i'll be the unfortunate educated (pfft) convict to point this out, but really didn't we all come from england.. *gulp, wipes away a tear*:cry:cry
sh*it happens though :P

amazer ·

nooo I didnt come from england. Nor did my ancestors. I aint english. Where's me kilt n sporran. I think most convicts were irish. Going to live at my father and stepmothers place for a while. She is english. Should have a lot of fun.

So england are in next week. Dont they just play an exciting game of rugby. kick. kick. kick. kick. do they know you get more points if you carry the ball over the line?

robroy ·

like the aussie commentator said they were not there to be Torvill and Dean, just to win and we certainly did that.
I want to see George Greegan face up to Martin Johnson again and then wet himself and run away hahahaha
We beat France and the Kiwi ref

amazer ·

I think england got a good deal from the ref. the penalty count and yellow cards were certainly in your favour.

They could take a lesson from aussie cricket. Play hard all the way. My idea of sport is to try and humiliate the opposition. Not play with your tail between your legs.

zac_smits ·

australia is sooo much more exciting to watch.
i didn't enjoy tonights game as much
australia deserve to win
zac

Kai.A. ·

i'll repeat what i said earlier: i dont like the way england play their rugby!:puke

tonights game was a let down to the sport of rugby in my opinion, so far the tournament has been fast, fun and exciting, but england have different ideas....

good luck to them, but they're in for a shock next weekend! 😀

Robo ·

Australia all the way!
Rob....

Daniel ·

I hope Australia wins, I like their style of rugby better. If everyone played the English style, it would be the most boring sport to watch.

robroy ·

the following to be sang to the music of "knees up mother brown"
We're not going home,
we're not going home
we're not going
we're not going
we're not going homeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

squizy ·

Well last nights game was to say the least - boring. Whilst the English style of play is clinical - it lacks one thing - entertainment. Woodward has said all along that he is here to win, no matter how they do it. :puke Which is a pity - because the style of play is totally non-adventurous.

Even the English supporters were starting to boo Jonny last night as he decided to take another kick at goal. Oh no....not another kick at goal. I thought the idea was to score tries?

The Wallaby's should win because they know the way to the tryline. The Poms could win due to Wallaby ill discipline - and that's the only way they'll get up.

On another note.....how about that trip by Dominici last night? Should he have been sent off or what? Disgusting!:puke

:beer Here's to the Wallaby's.

The referee robbed us, not our kicking! How can we score three tries to one and still get beaten?🙁
However all's better after driving to the beach in my Kombi and having a surf!!😎

Just a shame the English beat France (not that i like them much either!?!)

Chester

robroy ·

hey Andy 42 yes there is ........... just ask the ladies!!!
At the last few games I've been to its the brits that have made the atmosphere....win or lose we booze!!!
At the end of the day would you run around in the heat of Australia if you wasn't used to it or do exactly what was necessary. England are playing an intellegent game. World champions can be measured not just by one game. The Wallabies were spat on by their own country men up until the last game now all of a sudden they are world class.
As for saying Wales would have beat england if they had kicked better......... If Namibia had played better they would have beat the wallabies, if the Kiwis played to thier normal standard they would have been unstoppable.. its pure hypathetical conjecture.......
The wallabies had to borrow the English supporters for thier singing power at the last game..... else it would have been like a gig at the moon bar......no atmosphere.

robroy ·

oh yes........ where were the socceroos in the world cup....hahahaha

robroy ·

The welsh seem to have had a good time as well, thank goodness for Tom Jones I could hear 'why why why dehlila' all night, good on 'em.
If I can remember rightly the Irish were only just beaten by a kicked goal??

zac_smits ·

don't try to change the subject robroy!
how's your cricket team going by the way? have they figured out how to
a) bat
b)bowl
c)run
d)field
e)keep
f)all of the above....ie. my (theoretical) sons under 11 side can play better than you guys
zac

robroy ·

nope not yet but we are learning....dont like cricket anyway

zac_smits ·

more into the rugby hey?
(still got a bit of a way to go there but i guess time will tell)

amazer ·

robroy wrote:At the end of the day would you run around in the heat of Australia if you wasn't used to it or do exactly what was necessary. England are playing an intellegent game.
Heat ??? It was pissing down rain, at night.

Zac I dont reckon you're old enough to have even a theoretical under 11 son.

I agree I'd much rather talk cricket. Lets talk about how we can have 2 Australian teams better than one English... (possibly any other country) team, despite out insignificant population and geographic isolation. I have to admit I didnt rate the aussies a chance against NZ, and although I can be assured that Australia will score more tries, they may not beat the english. Time to have a rules adjustment so that tries mean more. The bonus point means squat when you are in the finals.

Robo ·

Just like ya said robroy, world champs use every trick in the book. wev'e been holding back so we can smash ya's!
we were just on a tune up run with the All Blacks, a very tough first class team, easily able to smash England!
Rob....

squizy ·

Of course going from memory there is Euro 2000, FIFA World Cup '98 [whatever happened to that guy Beckham anyway?]....even the World Cup of 1966 was won by a lucky goal. The problem with being English is the weight of expectation thrust upon every team. Only now is English Footbal and Rugby getting above it. As for League....well that's another thread.😀

The differences between the two countries is that England says "we're going to win it", whereby Australia says "one game at a time".

Squiz.......

bus914 ·

Yeah, the ref was harsh with one call (against Wales). Had they converted all their tries though it wouldn’t have mattered, the Poms would have been psychologically defeated.

As for the French, I think the Poms bored them into making unforced errors. Won’t happen with the Wallabies, they’ll be pumped off their insane tries.

…and you never know Jonny Beckham Wilkinson could get injured trying to stop Tuqiri on a break who will make no effort to avoid him and what would they do then?

robroy ·

they have another kicker to replace him......

robroy ·

hope its raining next week.....you wont then see yer wallabies wet them selves with fright against the mighty english

Kai.A. ·

robroy wrote:the mighty english
i can't help but laugh...... 😎

robroy ·

I thought the idea was to score tries?

no the idea is to win

robroy ·

even the World Cup of 1966 was won by a lucky goal.
Squiz.......

was it 4 lucky goals and how can a goal be lucky...its still a goal.
Last match England 5 Germany 1
Iraq 1 Aussies 0

bus914 ·

The mightier they come the better the upset.

Robo ·

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt Australia defeat England, in a game of soccer recently?
Rob.....

squizy ·

Who's refreshing whose memory here huh? Let me think.....England 1 - Australia 3???? Took place at a little place called Upton Park didn't it? 😀

Squiz......

Robo ·

Looks like it's lucky we didn't make it into the world cup, good ol England might have come last, you know WOODEN SPOONERS!
Rob....

pickle ·

🙂
you's all mad!
why is it that the aussies really love taking the micky out of the english?

to be fair england did find your wonderful country and populate it and a lot of you are more than likely desendents of english people.
really you should be thanking the english for having sent you to australia and not left you here were it always rains and the sun never shines and our VW's rust.

oh and if australia did lose how stupid would you lot feel?

who ever loses no excuses its just not good sport to make excuses.

well everyone enjoy the match and chill out!!
😀
oh and whats "wooden spooner" mean?
i don't even like rugby or football :P

robroy ·

ok ok it was a lucky goal or three that beat us.......but it was our 'c' team that we feilded, you know school boy reserves. We didnt think Australia warrantied the 'A' team.
Really guys I hope its a good game and I am sure a good time will be had by all.
Good to see the old rivalry is still alive and "kicking" hahaha

Robo ·

Get real!!! Beckham was too scared to come out! I would have thought to save the Old Country he may have pulled the boots on! woose
Pickle, hope your not taking this seriously, Just what Aussie's love to do, take the mickey. but when it come's to getting in the trench's wev'e never backed away from helping a friend yet!
Sorta like Kiwi- OZ thing, always at each other, but we get along great. there's enough of them living here.
Rob.....

zac_smits ·

zac

pickle ·

would be nothing new for the english to lose we do that all the time :o

zac_smits ·

what happens to me.... i'm going to live in england next year:o:o (for a full year) i leave on dec31st and get nye on the plane.
i'll get an english accent...oh no...noooo. actually, i've been to england a few times and i know my way around, but more importantly i can speak like a pom already.
even managed to convince my billets that i was a pom. now that's funny!!

squizy ·

The truth be known, my parents and the rest of my siblings are English from the Midlands....I was the only one born here - so I can wear both hats when I need to. But when it comes to England / Australia matches....Australia all the way.

Bugger this stuff....Cmon you Wolves!

:kiss

Squiz......

zac_smits ·

pickle ·

Not that this piece of dirt was ever lost in the first place, but I am pretty sure that the dutch 'found' it long before british made it here.

I hope the medicab has a hefty battery in it. Going to get a big workout by the steamrolled english team.
