Are you trying to change floor pans or or complete chassis as you have said both?

VWCOOL ·

You swapping to an IRS chassis, for instance? It's all quite easy, really...

VWFOOL ·

Nah, sorry just wasn;t sure wot u were asking. Me and bro dun it heaps. I have an IRS chassis under my Oval, and we've done all sorts of good-body-onto-better-chassis swaps over the years.
Remove fuel tank and fuel line
Bolts to front beam under tank have to come out
Brake line to reservoir
Steering shaft
Speedo cable
Engine wire harness
Starter motor wire from engien bay(don't forget this one!!!)
All bolts under edge of chassis
Bolts under rear seat
Bolts in rear wheel wells
Swap bodies
You will need at least four big blokes to lift a 'dressed' (guards and doors) shell. Beers and BBQ is good payment.
Lifting from guards is okay, as long as they are securely bolted with all bolts.
If putting early body on late chassis, you will need to cut/shorten/weld the rear wheel well brackets - they are different shapes. S'pose you will need to lenthen if putting a link pan under a late body :beer
