i get 5% off everything...but that aint much when u think about it...

Working from home is an absolute bonus. I can dial in and work anytime I need to, and balance out personal time in the day - until the mobile rings of course.

It makes for a great work / life balance. Gives me great time with the kids and my wife, and permits me to do work up until anytime in the evening. I try and keep all my meetings for one City visit per week.:thumb

ummm... free pathology? i guess you could say thats a perk seeing how exy path is.

actually, i think the best part of my job is getting to see all the lumpy oozy broken bits of people, i.e. cancerous kidneys, crushed legs, brain tumours, huge testicles and uterus' that look like aliens.
used to make me feel sick but now i find it so damn interesting!!

My first job was my best job. Fitter at BHP Stainless (RIP). Loved doing friday afternoon/nightshift doubler. Work flat out till 8:30. Kick back and open some beers and watch the footy on TV. Go to sleep till 7 the next morning. Same thing I would be doing if I was at home. And get paid double time to do it. Wont ever find a job like that again. Unless I get involved in politics.

I got sent around the world twice, to new zealand and to london (4 trips total) in less than 3 years as a maintenance engineer at BP 🙂

Best part was being able to take some holidays whilst overseas on work and do a contiki tour of europe !!!!!

i have three jobs

1. Bakery - free cakes, breads and pastry till the cowes come home, and it aint no brumby's shit, its quality stuff ! And all the sweet chicks i work with !

2. Functions - Take home beer/wine and chat up the drunk chicks. I had eyes full at the races i tell ya !

3. Coffee Agent - Work for my self and heaps of ace drinking products !

but i dont get to jump out of planes.......

Well Skewy and Psycho - I'm with you. I work in a wholesale bakery so all the free cakes, pies etc you want. The only disadvantage is eating them, I am sure I just have to smell them cooking to put on the weight. Oh and after you have worked there a while you are so sick of the stuff you don't want it anymore.

buzzbug go see 'Adrenalin Rush' at IMAX if you possibly can!!! It's all free falling and base jumps!!!:o It's a rush just watching the film. Pity I hate heights so much, but love planes

Skewy best bakery in Oz, it gets my vote... Jackman & McCross up in Battery Point Hobart!! Their stuff is to die for....:thumb

the job i had gave me free overseas trips. i went to usa for 16days. the biggest actually factory tour was the jim beam distillery. it took all day. the next biggest was the official ge tour. it took 3 hours and the prodution line was like 3 miles long. a big high light was bumping into the KKK in louisville, htey wre in town for a convention, and going to daytona 500 qualifying. also went to china, have a great photo hangin off the side of the great wall. germany, uk, singapore, amsterdam, taiwan, thailand. all free junket tours to 'promote' manugfacturers produx.

was a lot of fun all of em.

foudn a pic. this was achallenge for the best photo. as all you saw was people standing in front of things and all stiff and stuf. so i said if the guards did not have guns i would hang off the outside. well the guards had battons so out i went. didnt expect it to be like 6 or 7 metres high. but was worth it. the photo was taken by one of my counterparts in QLD.

Getting paid pretty well to Think Evil(tm) has to be the best perk. I get to attack um ... stuff, commit (pretend) fraud, and do social engineer (lie). I usually succeed.

Designing and securing stuff before you guys get to see it.

The travel isn't that exciting. I wish it involved more places other than Melb/BNE/Sydney/Canberra. Nothing against those places, but travel gets old quickly when you have nice furry tummies to rub back home.

Hmmm.... I guess outdoor education every week has to be pretty good. Sport (usually indoor soccer) and swimming on Fridays is ok too. Wednesdays without students is grouse. Flexible finish time, anything between 2.30pm - 5pm, is handy. 😀

If only I didn't have to put up with students!!

Seriously, working intensively with small groups of students can be quite rewarding, and sometimes its not. :jesus

hmmmmm I have a flat screen monitor , & a chair with wheels & mono gas shock absorber, nice but doesnt handle real well & I work in a give & take environment, salary, no overtime, & in at 8.00 am & leave at about 6 pm if lucky & rarely have lunch, but can also use internet phone fax photocopier printers etc as I wish

when i was a young fella I worked in a big fruit shop, the pay was completely shite but I ate my body weight in stone fruit every summer, -and not the cheap shit either, the peaches that came in wooden crates and imported dates worth $ 25 a kilo etc. mmmmm stone fruit -aarrgghhhh

make tshirts because i love designing
deliver pamphlets because i love being outside and cycling
make cards because its my mothers artwork on them and the pay is reasonable

The Lurks of my job are I get to go to wicked parties with all the stars of the films I am working on, I get my name immortalised on the big screen in the credits,
wait for it.......
I get to take molds of naked women to make custom fitting prosthetics like mermaid suits and statues, so yes all over nude molding of women.
That involves ensuring that every inch of their body, {Every Inch} has a liberal amount of release gel on it.

Oh and When its a decent film..... I get prawns and steak etc for lunch compliments of the caterers.
And people ask me..... why dont you get a real job?😀

I now work in psychiatry so I get to work with real people. Not these over inflated suit and tiny phone types. Except for drug reps.

If any of you ever feel like bleating about how bad life has treated you and woe etc believe me there are many much worse. So much worse that they have never driven or been in a VW :o

Im doing my bestest to fix that.

Well so far in eight or nine years I have spent six months in the US (paid for with a hire car and got a trip through Cheyenne Mountain and to Las Vegas), Seven months in Bosnia got New Years in Edinburgh for free and took a month leave at the end and went to Italy, Austria, Czech Rep., Switzerland and Germany.
Three months in the desert and visiting Baghdad,
been to places like Nepal, the Solomon Islands, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the UK.
I've gotten to play with satellites for a few years but my normal day to day work now has me in charge of up to 30+ tradies, I am the local boss and MY boss is over 2000km away from me.
I get a uniform to wear so don't have to worry about what I need to coordinate at work and get to play with lots of cool destructive toys when I want to!
Oh, free medical and dental as well! Only drawback is 24hr callout.

that jump that looks like a safety jump is me running from the back of a hercules out the side door towards the spiining propellors, only to exit and be hit by the massive amount of prop wash that you get from a plane travelling at over 200kmph. And now i am fully qualified to jump as i finish off my course with two jumps in the pitch blackness of Wagga Wagga at 3am this morning.:bounce

Well, I too work at woolworths but I was smart and got out of stores 2 years ago! I work on the IT Help Desk and I get the discounts at stores etc as well as a good Salary and overtime and a great shift. No weekend work unless I want the overtime and I work with a great bunch of people who love playing with all my VW toys!

Hardware store. Biggest perks are spending too much on tools and being able to help out people who have no idea what they're doing. and the obvious kudos when they all come back smiling after doing something they didn't think they could.
the sucky things are as always the fact that it's retail, and where money changes hands people get very protective and ornery, and that some customers are just plain assholes. My store has arguably got the best rep on the north shore, but I hear Bunnings pays better.... *thinks* and the new boss is trying to run the store like a hobby farm..... and being up to your armpits in concrete dust kinda sucks... and not a lot of honeys come in to hardware stores... ahh bugger it. 😀

I work in a photolab so the perks are ok:
I see what every one else gets up too in their pictures.
Also a shop full of chics is a bonus but their bitchin can get on my nerves.... as for others- i get all my photo gear at cost so that helps
