How cool is that J&S on the Tilt tray!!!

That looks like it would provide someone with a load of inexpensive FUN!!!

But then that Yellow one is Pretty Cool.....

Looks loads better then the first one.

handycam 路

yellow one looks cool:thumb

helterskelter400 路

same buggy or just same barwork???

both cool either way

BiX 路

is the yellow one just the green one after some work and a coat of paint?
the bar work looks the same, down to the way the front indicators are located in the front bar and the mesh on the ferret bars?

VDUBXTC 路

Brad 路

The yellow one is the green one after Daz67 sold it to Kenny added a 4" lift kit a coat of paint and ome TLC.

Peter Leonard 路

steroids in buggy=insane

just tell me to humour me, how much does a J&S buggy weigh?

Tony Draper 路

Hey, I own that buggy, don't know where the photo came from (Craig) - Trying to tak ecredit for my suspension! To answer your question, J & S Buggie weighs in at 450 kg with 120 hp.

Peter Leonard 路

yeeeeeehaww.
gotta be good for 12's in the quarter at that weight. assuming you can get the power down.... very noice, very toight, very fit yes.

OZ Towdster 路

Tony you are dreaming if you think they weigh 450kg ,it would be closer to 750kg and the last i knew Randal Jones currently owns that buggie

twoguns 路

mate. i thought mine was 515kg. a full blown early beetle was 790???

Peter Leonard 路

can someone just cut this crud and whack their buggy on some kitchen scales ffs. 馃榾
i have a 71 super that weighs 212 grams.
(but that's with hardly any fuel and the back seat out)

OZ Towdster 路

Sorry to burst your bubble Wes but 700-725 would be closer to the mark. The Towd weighs 675kg and we all know there is not much steel about it and i have a weigh bridge ticket to prove it ,so if you want to think about it people iwould be dam sure that a manx or clone is going to weigh more than 675kg you do the math

i put my swb over the wbridge a month ago. 620kg without me and 720kg with me. 10kg increments on the bridge and its certified 3monthly (it does all the licence weights in town ATM). the buggy has a galv steel "chassis stiffner" and front torsion bar stabilisers but not much else... lic papers say tare: 640kg

Baja Wes 路

daz67's buggy weighed 680kg?, and has some heavy bits and pieces on it.

Andrew's tow'd has type 4 running gear which adds a bit of weight.

Low 600kg like the last quoted buggy is probably about as light as your gunna get. No way it'd be near 400 something kg. You'd get low to mid 13's out of a drag buggy with a steriod motor.

When I saw the Steriod engined buggy at raleigh years ago it understeered like a bitch, I got video footage to prove it.

Were's there a weigh station around Brisbane. I'd love to throw my Standard manx with Alloy barwork on one and find out what it weighs in at.

~air fooled~ 路

go to the dump. they usually got em there!!!

daz67 路

How old is this Post, I don't even remember starting it.....

Wes is right my Buggy weighed in at 680kg, but everyone tells me I have super heavy Barwork. All the better for driving into people!!!! Or Towing their asses out of Bog's.

That's what happens when you run a locked ZF diff in a buggy ! pushes like a tractor in the mud !

Tony Draper 路

The blue J & S that I was racing weighed in at under 500 kg as proven at Box Hill weigh station. I suggest that anyone who has cut out 12 inches from a standard vw and then removed the very heavy body shell, rear seats etc etc etc and cannot get thier buggy down near 500 kg is not trying. Whats the point in adding heavy steel bars etc and putting the weight on the buggy back up to a beetle, may as well not have bothered.

Tony Draper 路

Also, any high HP buggy will undesteer under acceleration in tight corners, you just got to know how to deal with it, its not that bad and I still broke several track records with that set up.

I'm not trying as you have rightly suggested and I like the fact if I hit a tree that has been misplaced by nature, then I can still drive away.:thumb

Excuse my ignorance, but what does J&S stand for? the buggies look really great, a bit like Manxes but with a more 'raked back' look about them, were they available world wide or is it just an Aussie thing? never seen one before (I think!)
