Yeah, we do drive V Dubs - a '65 splitty, '63 and '72 retro cal bugs, trekker and '71 wizard. (Not all at the same time of course, and only when we're not watching Engerland win!!

he'll yes. either that or i catch the train. i am a 1st XI cricketer for my school (of 1500+) so we do do a fair bit of travelling so that we can play ourselves

There's a couple of good shows in Glouster.
VanFest and BVF are held at Malvern not far from where you'll be.

i believe that australia took up far more of the stadium than england, and was therefore able to consume more beer....
therefore,
australia 1(for the beer competition), and 100000000(for the cricket)
england 1(for the pathetic attempt at playing rugby)

therefore, aus won by 100000000

BTW could John Howard have looked more pissed off handing out the medals and trophy ? - not a very good loser and not very aussie.

well, I am 100% aussie all the way. But I watched the game tonight and I'd hafta say that the "Engerlish" deserve to win that one. They had some pretty good playing there, certainly gave us a run for our money, thats for sure! And there were a number of rather dodgy catches (or should I say, "attempts" to catch the ball) by Aus
btw Ray, were'd u guys find Jonny Wilkinson? He's pretty darn good!!
If I were you, I would take this opportunity to bask in ur glory coz we'll beat u next time 😉

....and now for an honest appraisal.

England were too strong. They dominated the ruck and mall, and I feel the Wallabies did well to still be in there with a shot. They should all be proud - winners and losers - as it was an absolute cracker of a game. So France in 4 years huh? Reckon Wilkinson will be a League convert by then?

Now hush up now guys....I'm listening to a web broadcast of some English Football.

And bloody John Howard's performance was disgraceful, at least he could have congratulated them.

Never saw a second of the game.
But I did take 8 train loads of yobs (of both persuasions) to the event. Trains were that packed I ended up letting people in the cab with me.
I had people shaking my hand & taking my photo, all English, one woman done my hat in red & white ribbon.
The English would have to be the most freindly group I've hauled around the city & although I didn't see the game, I'm pleased their team won....:thumb

As for Howard being a disgrace.....What's new?

Yeah John Howard was a bit of a loser - not even shaking hands in Marting J, before handing over Bill ... but the english guy was a bit crude putting the medals over the Australians heads too ...

Bloody great game ... we were up, we were down ... and some good moments ...
good to see that the english did actually change their style of game ... unlike the french game - they gave it a real shot - and Catt took some of the first hand advice from Jonah Lomu gave hime some years ago ..
