Watched the movie Johhny Nmeumonic (sp) with Keauneu Reeves (sp) last night. They used Beetles as bombs and dropped them from a bridge. They were like huge molitov cocktails.

watched an aussie movie on sunday night about like end of the world, nuclear war etc. "ON THE BEACH", and there was a early 60s green cabriolet beetle with side chrome flash, looked great....

these may be S.A. only, but Australian Central Credit Union (I think) is using a turquoise Karmann Ghia in their advertising at the moment.

Who can forget Jimoens debt to Australia ... in blowing up a splitty in 'The Craic' ... I was enjoying the movie up to that point ... then he had to go and destroy a splitty and make me cry ...
Also there is a cool thing on the new Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore movie ... saw it in the shorts ... probably not worth spending money to go see it though 😉

CSI has used a few beetles. A new beetle cabrio was featured in the episode where a few young partygoers were killed and a old beaten up beetle was blown up in another episode .......
What about the Karmann Ghia in the special K ad ????? That ad started my obsession with red Karmann Ghia's !

yeah i remember seeing jamies samba:thumb and on the new adam sandler movie (i posted a spotters forum thing for this) 50 first dates drew barry more drives a yellow thing.....in the movie "the wall" by pink floyd there is a beetle in the scene where they are goign thru the streets with the nazis parked on the side of the road.....and in the movie "boys in the hood" one of the main charecters drives a slammed blu bug :thumb

Nice splitty panel van on "Mr Reliable" saw it a few weeks ago, it was acting as a tv crew van. Few bugs appear, show is set in the late 60s

in both TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE movies theres a couple of old VW wrecks out the back of the house. in the recent remake theres actually an awesome rat splitty with deluxe trim hanging off it...

u only see it for a bit and its only one side and the top of the hood....but on the new impulse girls deodorant spray ad there is a blue beetle....her handbag is on the front hood when she gets out the spray:thumb

Watched Starsky and Hutch at the movies - awesome movie!

Have you seen the add about the couple who are going to get married!
She is leaving the house, bag packed...have had an argument....pans to the rear end of a KG with clothes sticking out of it...as to make it the "BOOT!"......you have to look close....you can see the over rider bumpers, the rear tail lights......

did anyone see a few weeks ago on the a,b,c after the bill some funny little show called goodriddiance,i think it was some little plasticene dude who gets his van and the lady in front ran over by a train ,then he joins them together,and i think hes a pest controler and his dirty little rat mates are laughing at him because he cant find the motor,so he hooks up a solar panel and propler and cruses off,it only went for about ten min s but was so funny,i only got a dodgey little black and white tv and was laughing so hard i missed most of it, so did any see it or tape it,:thumb

My sister bought the 'Monty python and the holy grail' double dvd. On the second DVD there are a couple of 'the making of' videos and in one of them there is a lovely split bus.

just copped a good solid 20 seconds of red beetle cruisin in the countryside (should be more coming too, it's the hero's car 😀) in this newish aussie series (channel ten) while channel surfin.... NSW plates wsq ??? or something. out of interest, anyone know whose it is?

On the simpsons tonight...reverend lovejoy drove a karmann ghia in the 70's.... nice one!

Over the Easter weekend there was some Disney Movie
with an OES and a Doberman pinscher. [Old English Sheepdog]
When the OES goes [chased] into a yard there is a white
late Beetle facing away, under a carport.
Stupid movie, turned it off after that.
Couldn't get any better🙂

there was of those law order shows on the other night where they chased adude that shot some one through the gun in the harbour when they went to search for it they dragged up a splitty 11 window with a skeleton at the wheel with a bullet hole in his head .

Haven't read this whole post, but I just saw the movie "City Of God" and almost every shot had a Kombi or a beetle or a ghia. Couldn't believe it, and it was an amazing film too.

Anyone want to see a movie with tonnes of Volkswagens... check out "Almost Famous" ....I counted about 4 in the first couple of minutes 🙂 lots of kombis...
