hehe good day, i just got back. That last pic is great! the Penrose Bug wheelied in 1st and 2nd gear! it bent its wheelie bar in the process

Just had a shower and i have serious t'shirt tan and look like a Panda as i wore my sunnies allday!
Good day shame that there wasn't over many folks to cheer the dubs on. There should have been a mix of cars racing though , V8 v Flat 4's , save having to watch mostly V8's running eachother at the VW Nats. Either way it was a great day!!
Just feel in love with the blue 62? Cal with the mega stinger and the IDA's !!!!!

and danny, i dunno where you two we're off to but i followed the signs for sydney.....and got home just fine.
even though i only had one headlight, and all my dashboard lights just stopped workin half way home...

Just after Jon peeled off Paramatta road i had a guy pull out on me in a Skyline and i had the car fully sideways and how i didn't hit him or roll the car , i don't know. Talk about "mud crabs!" LOL !You've gotta get that video clip sorted somehow. The crowd will go nuts!Good day , look like a farkin panda though! See you at Petersham Mackers at 7.30?

Awesome racing, the Penrose car and the wheelies were amazing.
Was good to see the Fords getting flogged by Chryslers and Holden's as well.....it is simply the order of things in the Automotive universe.

when i saw all the v8s there i thought we might get some vee dubs whooping v8s.... now that i woulda liked to see!!!!
i've gotta admit, i thought it was bad planning to have so many v8 only racing eachother at an event called the vw nationals...... i'm not saying they shouldn't be there. but maybe they shoulda been racing against the vee dubs instead of just against other v8s.

I had a good day. If you can call breaking $1000 worth of someone elses custom hewland gears good. Car was running a full second slower than what it should have been as well. Ran 14.6 with same motor in a kombi. Ran 13.8 in same car at Adelaide. Best I could muster here was 14.9. The track is 500 metres long instead of 400. Thats my excuse. But looking on the bright side, I got both cars there and back in one day!!! It was a shame to see so many VW retirements. Not a good day for our image I dont think.
Its an awesome venue for drag racing. Great viewing. Great PA. Nice pits. A world away from Oran Park. No alcohol is good too. Keeps all the dickheads in check so its a stress free environment for families. I wouldnt have minded a couple of brews myself, but the benefits outway the costs. A cool hairpin to fang around at the end of the strip too.
Now if only I could get a $2 bag of chips instead of a $3.50 cup.

Well i had a great day / nite at the Drags.... Wasnt a bad guest termate at my time either I said i would go around the 20s mark .... and the best time i ran was a 20.1 and around 103 Kph... Pretty consistant except for the Semi finals when i broke out and ran 0.012 under my dial it.... Still i am in the money but it could have been a little more ,,,, next time
And speaking of next t ime if you want to see ALL vws get yr back side track side instead of sitting up in the grandstand... its only $25.00 more to run and have fun.

I believe that entry was $45 which included a pass for 1 crew member. If I read that right, you would be mad not to enter. Even if you dont race your car. 2 people pay $20 each to park in the spectator car park, which is a fair walk.
