Good vegetarian restaurants in Sydney

Okay, Mr Carnivore here. I'm coming to Sydney with a work mate who is vegetarian, and thus the need for non-meat options.

I know zillions of places *I* like eating at, but I need a few suggestions for reasonable priced vego places in or near the city (I prefer walking to my food).

I'll be there between Wednesday and Friday, most likely not staying for the weekend (as per normal).

thanks,
Andrew

Balmain too far???
Havent eaten at Harvest for a while but it " use " to be "THE" vego restaurant in Sydney

Another i havent been to for a while is the Krishna one up at the X or Nth Sydney. Great food there.
Heap of good ones in Balmain that serve both - especially the Indian ones.

Cool. I'll check 'em out. 🙂

Balmain is a bit too far - we are taxi / ferry / public transport bound, and realistically, Balmain can be difficult to get to / from during peak hour for just an hour's worth of guzzling.

If I was going to go as far as Balmain, I'd be heading back to my old stamping ground in Crows Nest or off to Newtown, or even try something at Manly again. Oxford St is fine - that's crawling distance in case of excessive consumption.

Bodhi is great. Near the Capitol theatre.

Don't be put off by the names of the dishes. They are taoist and none of the dishes contain any animal product or by-product.

Mumma Chu's on Pitt Street is pretty good too and very cheap!

Govindas (check spelling) in Glebe is supposed to be good, my brother went there all the time. They also play movies so you can get a dinner and movie deal. The movies are you dendy cinema type films.
