This idea is from the site above....You could do your own t-shirt for fun....A good conversation piece in one of those outback pubs!!!!

I Liberated a Gnome T-Shirt

If you have liberated a gnome. advertize your achievments!!!

There are some nice swimming holes on the way up to Darwin...Kings Canyon or Finke Gorge.... You meet heaps of people who'll tell you the way to one

aggri1 ·

Great idea. Sounds like a lot of fun. I reckon it'd be funny when you return the gnome to the original owners, and wait in hiding to see what they do when they come to work (at the fire brigade right?)

Hope all goes well.

Aurel🙂

be carefull where you swim, if the crocs don't get ya the petrol prices just might!
We are better off than the europeans though, last I heard it was about 3 aud a litre over in Germany

And don't worry about gettin lost, the roadsigns will always help you find those really out of the way hard to find thingies...

well we got to mildura the first day,,i hate hills>then to sa the next, then headed for the nt boarder, went to gnome world on the way,had a few hiccups on the way,the starter decided to play up,had to crawl under with the screw driver trick, made it to the rock, thought we lost the gnome,O NO A DINGOS EATEN MY GARDEN GNOME,but found him he went long grassing with the locals, had the nut come off the front shockie, gave it to the macanic in daily waters, was going to get me a new one but never saw him again .so i was going through the car dump found a burnt out splity,in the end i had to bush macanic it up with pin and wire, also had the heater hose break so had to fix that in kathrine, stayed in mataranka for 4 days, used to live there caught up with some old mates, went to firecracker night, then headed for dawin, oil change, filter, cruzed into dawin and got the tappets, plugs, ect done, and went over the hole thing, cheers to the boys at contental motors, not many macanics in the bush like working on vw,but made it ,its hot living off beer baracoas and bbq, some pics to come, bye, will post more when home but that could be another adventure,

Anthiron ·

im thinking mataranka.....is that how u spell it.....ive been there...was an awesome place......nice and warm but if u went to early in the morning u had to chase away the local python

tracash242 ·

ok the pics at mattaranka ,went to the markets in mindel beach and the gnome made a citersons arrest, some dudes going around touching girls up,so he appratended the suspect and held him down, until security and police arrived,so that was enough to leave, car troubles again ,so 38 hours on a bus to cairns and the van comes next week,
