im facing my first blue slip for my oval and im worried about a few things.
first of all will i need side mirrors? i never had them b4 and passed rego fine. is it true they ddint come out with mirrors therefor i dont need them?
if i do need them wat is a quick way i can hook up some mirrors on my car without driving out hinges etc?? damn.
wat about indicators, i only hav the hella replacements on the side where the semaphores go. will i need ones on the bumper etc? damn.
are u allowed to hav seats with rips in them? can ur interior be tatty and thats ok?

if ya really need to. get some cheap kmarties and double side tape them to the door as you go in the gate. then as soon as you leave take em off.
seats would need to be covered. and i think your door panels need to be complete also.
would think your indicators would be find, as that is where they were located and youve jsut added a better option. theya re visible fromt eh front backa nd side. and thats what it the law says.

As far as I understand there were no ADRs applicable back in the '50s, so it shouldn't be a requirement now.
Having said that, the Engineer can ask for anything he wants I suppose :cry

Wont need a mirror as they were an option, but will need door cards and seats not to be torn, if only little tears put tape on them, thats what i did, otherwise supacheap car seat covers or a tshirt if its on the back...otherwise swap all your mates good stuff for blue slip and swap back when you get home or argue it was yours and your not giving it back...

you are right about there being no adrs but the rta gets around that by it must meet the original specs that the car was released with. this can be confirmed by ringing the rta or an avis station( some where that does blueslips)

i rang the tech guys at the rta today, they said no need for a side mirror and that they hav to go on the 50s rules seeing my car was built then so semaophores would b fine as my only indicators.
the seats can be torn just no springs sticking out etc. car can hav mismatched panels, primer etc as long as no structural rust, can even hav rust covered guards as frenzix has proven.
as long as the guy inspecting it isnt a hard ass i shuld b ok...
