I hate the fact that a previous owner took it upon themselves to saw a hole for a radio in the dashboard without bracing the panel so it didn't bend, and seemingly without following a straight line.

I also hate the way everyone assumes that because it's a reasonably scruffy looking old car that they can be as messy and inconsiderate of it as they like.

2. Paying for RACV Total Care....and them not being able to fix things..... (luckily a rare occurance...needing their assistance that is) :jesus

I hate other people thinking that it is ok to pull out infront of you because it just a "slow bug".

I hate that my other army mates don't have respect for me and my hobby, when i am respectful of theirs. And i have more to show for it and a hell of alot of pride in my car.

Those bastard army guys,

I hate having to drive to sydney for parts (like I have to do in the morning), when I can't get them here, Auto Pro doesn't stock VW parts, especially Karmann Ghia side mould clips!!!

hills as well,but those little 1600 motors are just about on the list,having had about 6 in diffrent kombis,and travaling around oz,always looking at the donk instead of the sights think im leaning to the dark side or i think i just seen the light,dont get me wrong air cooleds are cool,but for me ?

im with killakornkob.....i hate it when u just fix something and then know there are about 10 things u still need to do. i hate that the A pillars need replacing, i hate that my front end likes to steer me places i dont want to go. (unlike my old front end which was very nice but got written off). and i hate that damn flat spot from the 009:cussing

Hi

I like to fiddle around fitting later car parts to old bugs, so I hate it when you want to buy a part for an bug and the guys in the shops look at you like your a wanker, like when I bought all the 944 stuff for my rear end and now Im fiddling around with Xenon headlights for my bug, should see the looks I get from people in shops when I ask about these.

Thats a good one, I fixed that by making the link bar where the cable attaches fixed. Early bugs didnt have this problem.

I'd have to agree with adjusting each brake shoe seperately.

Needing to be double jointed to get some of the nuts on or off. Mostly in the engine bay where it's all done by touch.

Silver, I solved the oil filling problem with a clean 500ml coke bottle. Fits snuggly in the filler & the engine bay. Plus the added bonus of knowing your putting in 500ml at a time.

I hate the radio not coming on when I turn the key...so I forget to turn the bloody thing on and end up talking to the car (thats not so bad ...right?)

I hate the oil filler too .....only had to use it once but that was enough !
Hate that my front end needs pulling into shape
Hate that I have rust in what you guys call A pillars ?

But I love Vern to death
He starts first time everytime ,doesn't use oil and he is a hottie !

the fuel guage not working,
the torsion bars that need swapping over,
the lack of heater,
the gearshift being difficult,
being a bit scared to drive it.

P.s All of these things are really my fault at some level, not the car's.

I hate how when one door is closed and windows wound up its hard to close the other door if the windows are up too!

I hate how the side mirror gets pushed out when you open the door with the 1/4 vent window open.

I hate how the steering column is about an inch to the right of the centreline of the drivers seat (this gives me backpain if i drive too long because i have the stock tombstone seats - i end up sitting lopsided!)

I still love it though 🙂

I don't think there's ever been anything I hated about my buggy, even though it's being reinCARnated as whole different vehicle.

I don't need to hate anything about my VWs, that's what I've got an old Peugeot for, it deserves all the hate in the world, as my girlfreind keeps expressing.

yes they do deserve that kind of treatment cause of the way they are designed, i.e we will put this here so they cant reach it and if they can they cant do anything with it

I hate the fact that it is in a million pieces and I just don't know where to start in putting it back together......

I hate the fact that my wife looks out the window and throws a tantrum because it makes the pegola "look messy" and that she is too embarrased to have people over as our back yard looks like a scrap yard.

I hate the fact that I still haven't chosen a color to paint it and it is almost ready to visit the spray painter !

I hate that I hooked up the fuel tank after nearly 2 years of rebuilding the 1302 and it has rusted out from the inside. Leaks like a sieve!!😠

geez kol I just messed my pants. nice shiny new microbus in the driveway would be too kewel. Definitely order the trip speedo and clock.

What I dont like (most) about my kombi is that the indicators dont cancel on left hand corners, and only cancels sometimes on right hand corners.

😀 I think you just answered your own question Gary.

no, not really. I looked briefly at the G50 and 905 boxes.
too much stuffing around, the car was already set up for a 2 litre kombi box.
just spent $2500 getting a kombi box built with new or reco everything, Albins diff and Albins 3rd/4th
we'll see how this box holds up now. 🙂
