Michelin XZX Tyres - Bargain

I finally got round to finishing off my 356 wheels today. I bought a full set of original Lemmertz wheels of bocka64 and had 2 dechromed, then all powdercoated, and today I put some new Michelin 165/15 XZX tyres on. These normally retail for $135 each, but the nice guy at Bob Jane in Fairfield quoted $119 each fitted, balanced and they even didnt charge for inner tubes as the wheels didnt have a safety bead! Not bad considering the Bob Jane down the road was charging $138 each!!

Called in to see George at Classic Vdub on the way home, and he had just received a few sets of EMPI plain moon hub caps, so snapped up a set and even got some window winders for the 356 (same as early bug) for only $6.50 each! brand new! George has some great specials on, check out his website.

Funny, all up the 356 wheels cost more to restore and put tyres on than my set of 17' 993 Turbo Twists were with tyres!

So now its onto getting the bumpers painted.

The turbo twists were $970, The 356's $650 for 5, $100 to strip chrome, $275 to powder coat and $595 to put 5 tyres on Hub caps $112 - All up $1732! Damn I could of bought a set of BRM's for that! Ah well at least they are real Lemmertz 356 wheels and 5 of them at that.
