hi
i recently won an ebay item and paid $65US to hav it shipped to me before valla from the states.
the package arrived today, after Valla and a week overdue. the box says the shipping cost $25US which is wat i was quoted for 10 days shipping, not the 48hour shipping i had allegedly paid for.
is there something i can do about this?

Mate ive been STUFFED around by experts when purchasing stuff from the US.
They will blame it on the shipping company, and theres Jack u can do about it.

What did you have sent? Did you have contact with the seller?
Know I've had smallish parcels arrive in a couple of days and larger ones a week or so later...I don't know..
Have you bought off of ebay before...What did the seller say in the auction? Sometimes the price is relating only to certain regions...e.g. US and Canada..we have to find out if they will ship to us

With my pop outs which arrived 3+ weeks after buying...and the fog lights ordered at the same time received within a couple of days....I was really wondering if I'd been had!!!:jesus

Don't know if it's the shipper or customs...or freight carrier who are to blame:alien

Contact the seller, ask him why he charged you so much, and if he is a reasonable dude he should refund the difference or most of it, If he won't, leave him suitable feedback on Ebay.

Yeah you can leave feedback stating you paid top $ for ship and it didnt arrive in the scheduled time ... but i bet he blames it on the shiping company the YANKS are so Vague when it comes to using the post office.
As Dave said send them a message and see what hapens then post accordingally.

its not that it arrived late, i understand that happens and it was the risk i took.
but listen, i was quoted $65US for shipping.
he paid $25 shipping.
thats a huge difference, i mean ive been overcharged $5 or so before but thats $40US!
ive just sent a email to the seller, hope this works out...

Yep, he bent you over!! see what he says, there is no excuse for slugging you $40.00 extra, $5-10 happends sometimes, not $40.00.

He probally charged you the $40 for Packagaing and Handling and lost in Banking charges and the Ebay commission and listing fees ... money conversion surcharges exchange rate conversion etc etc etc the list goes on n on
cardboard boxes and bubble wrap are expensive
Post the item so we can read the fine print

nah nah nah thats bullshit, we agreed on a total. u cant add $40 worth of extras on top.
i could hav gone with the cheap shipping, but i wanted the stuff here in time to show at valla. so i asked him to find out the quickest shipping which he said was $65US for 48 hour delivery.

Well you can rate the seller on ebay......Thumbs down by the sounds....
Between 1 - 10 how would you rate him.....
See how many others will buy next time he tries to sell....
Must admit my guy was genuine...and told me the 3% extra I'd have to pay using PayPal.....worth it...
I do check what others have said...just to feel a bit safer with a seller...

When I ended up emailing to ask why my pop outs hadn't arrived he said he went looking for a better pair for me and so sent them later than fog lights....:kiss
Well I did send him pics of Bel's resto (maybe impressed?)...and he was trying to lead me to more of the stuff he sells (soften her up).....?
Anyway I was happy...nothing hidden😎

As far as I'm concerned, if he quoted you $65 for 48hr shipping and only paid $25 and it was late, he took the cheap option at your expense. I would expect 48hr shipping from the states to be DHL or similar, it sounds like he has used regular airmail. Email him asking for an explanation and if the answer is unsatisfactory leave him -ve feedback and post his ebay name here so we can all be forewarned. Your chances of getting any money back are f!@# all, so all you can do is warn others that he is not to be trusted. keep us posted.

You must have bought something BIG to get quoted that much....The last "box" I got from the states weighed in at 32kg and measured 80cm long and 45 cm high and wide. My shipping cost US$45 and was on my doorstep in 48 hours via DHL-via Brisbane!!!!(ordered on Monday arvo and arived wednesday arvo) Leave him negetive feedback if he dosn't refund part of the money:jesus

mick h that is really eye opening, he used regular mail, wish we had gone DHL, i could hav had it in time that way.
oh and the package weighed only 1 pound and was the size of a shoe box.

well ive sent the email, thats the first step ebay and paypal says to do, if its not resolved they shuld step in and help somewat. will let u know how it turns out...

He can refund via Pay Pal...
I Paid a fellow the A$ rate in US$ on Pay Pal the first time I used it, and He refunded the excess back to My credit card via PayPal...
I am started to check prices of Postage on Parts Now, after many people charging $20+ for small parcels in Australia & the postage is $5...
If He IS genuine He is able to refund You the excess to Your Pay Pal Credit card a/c...
If You leave Negative feedback...
He will probably do the same !!!! nothing to stop Him....
and many people are now saying that they will leave feedback AFTER You leave feedback.....
So You end up with Negative feedback against Your name too
...
I am Like Jenz .. I now check if there is any negative feedback and email the people who have bought off them...
Jenz, why did You buy fog lights from the USA???
There are plenty at Swap meets.... and on Aussie ebay...

just got an email back from the seller, he has refunded the money and begged not to recieve negative feedback, says it was an honest mistake. glad it was sorted out with relatively little hassles, shame it didnt arrive on time though...
