One of the VW Australia mags has a Super with it done. Think it is a bloke that likes Ashfield way, see it pretty regularly.
I know it haunts VVDS a fair bit - maybe Dave can put you in contact. Pretty sure the panel shop next door to them did the job. Has areos on it and looks sweet.
Richard also knows the guy. Alex might be able to help

It would stop the rust in the seam like on my car... May be worth it in the long run.

yeh but its would let rain into your window if your at a stand still ?

I would love to remove the gutters and the waistline crease and also the crease above the gutter amke it fully smooth, but would have to brace in behind the gutter area. but it wouyld look very smoooooth

Hi
A friend of mine did an old Mini years ago, they actually unpicked the panels and refolded them so that the seams were on the inside, huge job. There was a mega $ dark blue baja at Nambucca in the the 90s that had this done, it was featured in a VW magazine, cant remember which one, maybe someone can remember. It would look pretty cool, not sure how it would affect strenght.

Sorry I don't have pics but I remember reading about how it was done in a few features in the mags and it said how important it was to shave the seams and weld in small sections at a time. that is don't cut the gutter right off front to back then weld it up - was recommended to do it in small .sections

Found a pic of the race car with gutters removed as mentioned above....
