Tyres for Country Buggy

Suggestions wanted - it's almost time to put tyres on my CB project and I need an off-roadish style of tyre that fits a 4.5-inch wide 15-inch rim (early Kombi). Does anyone know of a suitable tyre? Most jap soft-roader 4WDs have a 6-inch or wider rim... and hence the tyres are too wide for a CBuggy...

terry in qld had 215/75/15's on his and they looked pretty good that was on stock rims
its ok to go a bit wider and a bigger tire also helps to cut the revs down a bit with the reduction boxes fitted

Mine has Kumho LT215/75R/15 and they are a perfect size, not too big that flares are needed and handles well.

okay, I'll take a look at the Kumhos - as long as they don't scrub on full lock etc etc...?

Good things you mentioned the scrubbing, I forgot that my buggy has had the guards lifted at the front, but is hard to pick. I dont know if they would rub on a standard buggy, sorry about that..

Ok, the tyres have no name on them?????? but are made in the USSR the size is 175/82x16 with a M&S tread. He thinks the wheels are VW but someone told me maybe ford but he has VW cup on them so maybe Volkswagen(on the car when he found it). If your interested I try to get a pic for ya.🙂

Buggies had splitty Kombi rims - 15x4.5 inch. Not sure of original tyres size.. and no, being 16-inch, Zook and Niva tyres are no good...
