XXX-1.8T 路

cmon someones got to know something........

Robo 路

The originals were made of brass and chrome plated. they had a double curve on the front, the flat 4 copie's are very close to the original! They were made by a German company called Happich. Happich made a few other accessorys for VW's they no longer manufacture things for old VW's.

Close up of Grey 57's at DOVW...Dean I hope these are originals!!...I'll trust they are....

Stanley 路

Original or not they still look cool.

People make comment on mine all the time...on the beetle that is

Robo 路

Looks like they may be the same. The cheap ones have huge folded front lips. The originals have rolled edge's!

Found it!!! :bounce:bounce

Fender-mounted turn signals arrived on the Deluxe model (the only version coming to the U.S.) for 1955, replacing the mechanical semaphores that had been used previously. The gas tank was reshaped to increase luggage space in the front trunk and metal door stays replaced cloth ones. VW also added metal "eyelids" over the headlights which were a hit for their good looks, but aerodynamically disadvantageous. On a car with as little power as the Beetle though, such a disadvantage can be profound.

jenz58 路

Robo 路

A blurb...

Founded by Philip Rosenthal Sr.
in 1879 in Selb, Germany, the company's focus has always been on two ideals: master craftmanship and design leadership.

Rosenthal doesn't imitate what other people have done nor follow a trends.

The goal of its efforts in development, production and sales is to market a truly original line that would reflect the many aesthetic currents of the time

Can't find when and who contracted them...they still do some amazing China Ware!!! I want some!! 馃槑

Robo 路

Yeah
I like the slender one's with the nice folk art flowers painted on them. They give you car that European touch! Thats the problem with this country. Evrything has to be what the typical steriotype Aussie male thinks is Macho and acceptable! I don't care I like them and I like the smell and look of the flowers on the car dash! after all she is a Lady!

A nice old fashioned scented rose is cool....

When I bought Dr L ...the guy who sold her to me left a nice rose sticking out of the ash tray

Here's a nice crystal set....mmmmmmm...you don't want to know the price!!!

It's Hella....

i thought kamei also made the beetle vase

vw54 路

I have origional German ones on my 56 and teh 65 as well. teh aftermarket ones have a very sharp lip on the underside you can cut your finger on them.

jenz58 路

XXX-1.8T...they possibly do...I'd have to go look....馃榾

People seem to have a few Rosenthal bud vases for sale on TheSamba....that's the only way I'd know....I just go to drool...too pricey for me...

Yep...Bel's got the rolled edges on her eyelids.....no finger cuts for me!!:sandrine

Grey 57 路

Nah the ones on the Grey Oval were reproductions from the states. Not a bad repro, but not a patch on the real McCoy. The best ones are the rolled edge stainless steel type. have the same double curve shape. Rare as the proverbial "rocking horse shit" these days.

jenz58 路

Well I'll just have to take a pic of Bel's then!!

They are a good repro though Dean....more original shape

p.s. so glad I've kept Bel's then...and not bought shiny new ones....Ingrid has painted the underneath for me to clean them up a bit....馃槑
