Klub VW Brisbane & Bayside turns 1 this weekend and was wondering if anyone would like to join in for the day. We will be taking pictures of cars to put them up on the website.
We start the cruise from the Shell Service Station at Nudgee on the Gateway at 9.00am. We will be then going up the Gateway to Redcliffe for a lovely day beside the bay.
Bring along your picnic basket, sun screen and your swimmers

Yes... looking forward to this as its just a nice relaxing day and other reason is spending it with fellow VW freaks out in the sunshine.

Wellllll we have a club member that lives up that way and they probably will have a good understanding on where to go but at this stage probably down the southern end of Redcliffe water front... not to many people and have a bit of parking and has to have a BBQ.
I am going to go for a run up on Saturday to check out the spots

i'll give you a run down now.......
on the southen end (the bottom of redcliffe) is pelican park (or poofter park as it was once affectionally known....resulted in the doors being removed form the dunnys). it has heap of seating in two big undercover areas and a few barbecues. swimming beach is right there but sometimes inhabited by jet ski's and competitions. heaps of parking.
a little further east (about 1km) is a smaller undercover area with bbq's and playground equipment, but no swimming beach but plenty of parking.
a little further east again along the southen coast is woody point. there are several undercover areas, however only one big one seating more then 12 people which the smaller ones sit, bbq's available and heaps of parking.
the next closest bbq area on the coastline big enough for the group is at suttons beach at margate on the eastern coastline. they have a ehap of shelters and bbq's, however each shelter only seats about 14 people or so and these areas are usually the more popular ones on redcliffe. heaps of parking but sometimes packed when busy. swimming beach there is the most popular in redcliffe.
from there their isnt really and bbq areas big enough to contain more then 10 volkswagen nutters until you hit the northen coast of redcliffe right up near the tip of scarborough, north of the marina.

It will definitely be happening and we are looking forward to the cruise up. Might even scare the natives and bring the swimmers, if it is a nice day like today.
Don't forget the cameras and the sunscreen!!!

Thank you for the info... i still will go for a cruise up this afternoon and check out the spots.
Everything is still a gower.... going to be a lovely day if the weather is half as going as it is today (saturday).
More the merrier.... everyone is more than welcome to come along.
Michael and I should be at the Shell Servo between 8.00am and 8.15 in Boof (blue and white Baja) and of course my little yellow bug - she goes just about everywhere.
We are still leaving at 9.00am as planned. We also have a couple of people coming down from Toowoomba for this event so if they are running late and they are going to ring me at 9.00am if they have not arrived and say where they are if they are about 10 minutes away we will hold the cruise till they catch up to us.
I am sososososososoosos looking for ward to tomorrow. A fun relaxing day beside the water and spending it with our families and VW's

Well what a great turn out we had 11 cars at the Shell Servo and ended up at the on the beach with 13.
Big thanks to everyone that came along on the cruise....... fantastic turn out and a great group of people
