REar fibreglass double bump mudguards fitted with LH Torana tailights
saw someonne who shouldnt own a vw go from 4th to 1st in a caravelle just cause he wanted a new motor from his insurance company. it put a con rod through the block quite nicely. needless to say my old man was not impressed cause he stripped and rebuilt the engine a month before :cussing

i was talking to a bloke on the weekend and he was telling when he was doing uni 10 years ago him and 6 mates got a kombi for $200 and went around australia it was flat out do 70km's with them all in the and just after they got back the engine died and was going to cost $1500 to fix
so they back it ful of firewood and fuel and burned it to the ground now this dose not sound so bad right?
it was an old kombi right!

Yeah she was fine... seat belt bruises that's all.
She lost it on a rural road when a truck came too close. Spun and wrapped around a tree.
The engine was 20 metres away from the car!
She got out. Passed out. Come too away from the car with the shifter still in her hand!

lol its bad enough we nearly rolled the countrybug-but the red beetle in the background is STILL running as a paddockbasher-and now minus even more bits(amazing what a 9" grinder does when ya need rust repair panels in a hurry)

Accidents are accidents so I won't dwell on those.
On purpose; there's a beetle in Bingara with on of those fibreglass bonnet & grill set ups. Huge in America, thankfully never took off here.
As I mentioned on another post, there is a beetle in Sydney with a paint job that comes under the WTF catagory, but, in case it's a member, I can't go into detail.

What a cool thread! Fortunately I haven't done anything bad to my bus just yet. Except a small scrape on the sliding door, which wasn't even through the white undercoat!
