When we graduate from High school here in Norway we buy a car....we paint it with brushes and drive around with our drunk mates.....a lot of VW-vans has taken the night in this celebration called: "Russefeiring".......2 years ago I found such a "RUSSEBIL", all painted and not nice at all.....
Since the price was reasonable and the car had the steeringwheel on the "wrong" side (we have LHD here in Norway) I bought the uggly duckling and took it back home.....

I found theese COSMIC 14" wheels that had the same bolt-pattern as the Bay-window.....I bought them and thought more on what style I should go for....

The car is a Martin Walter Ltd Doormobil....which is classefied for 6 persons...so its not a DEVON camper....
About the engine....its a 2 litre 1977 T4 engine, and with the matching gearbox too.... and you have a nose for observation....it is a newer engine than the car.....car is 1971
The sad part is that its sold....next week this guy coming to pick it up.....but frankly I know that this would not be used much in my ownership....I have those other cars to drive also.....

baybus they are porsche/vw wheels and not many around
called cosmics i think, not as $ fuchs but still a little exy just not that many around so try and find a set, mainly on euro sites

The bay has now got a new owner and since the taste is different he have just sanded down the "Butcher-theme" and wants to have it bright orange and black......sad but I had my fun with it....!!
The rims...are COSMIC and made in England in the 70´s and 80´s.....these came off a Ford Granada...(I think you have the same car down under...probarbly another name....) it also fit the same pattern as Mercedes....I´m not sure of the offset....not vry common around here either....but since I dont seem to have the likes for Bay-windows...I sold with the car.....
I also have the COSMIC wheels for 4 lug VW pattern.....fit nicely under the fenders of a T3.....6 inches so they probarbly need some wider front-fenders to fit a bug....

Its 3 notches lower in the front and that often is too much.....I had to put on 145/15 tyres in the front to be able to make some turns while cruising.......

The hole car.....with extra air-inlets on the "hood-area"....and I really like the stance of the car now.......
And when I get my polisher ready to work....we will have it glossy too.....its not shining at the moment.....
And you asking about the weather down in Norway.......we are like up in Norway and we have the fall now.....some mornings driving to work I need to put my Eberspächer to work.....for you who dont know what taht is....a mind-blowing 2000 watt gasheater with the outlet right on the gas-foot.....its warm and sooo cosy.......

As I said before.....it was orginally a Delivery...and I have located the window-tin so maybe next year it will go back to the metal-days......put in the tin and a new paint.....maybe with a black roof.......

Here is a pic of my other babe........a 1968 Karmann Ghia...sits on Sprint Stars too and are a lovely car to cruise in....has a 1776 cc engine and a nice go.....lowered and thats almost all done with it....second owner on this one too...brought back from USA in 1998......I just love it.....!!
The color is kind of brown--ish.....or beige.....I didn´t like it in the beginning....but I can´t figure out another cool color either....so it kind have been my color these days.
