Does anyone know who to contact to get a credit check, and check if a car is stolen?
Just to make sure there are no issues with my new purchase :-)

There is a website you can go to to order a check of the vehicle. you will need the vin number and or the engine number. I am not sure what the web address is sorry but if you look on the qld gov transport site you should find it through there... i think it was $25 or something for the service... Though if the car is stolen and they say it wasn;t and you purchase of this advice you are covered whereas if you dont check and it is stolen you will lose the vehicle.
alternatively you could be dodge and call crime stoppers and pretend you have seen a sus car and think it may be stolen. I once did this to report a genuine sus car and the guy seemed to be able to tell me that the car was not reported stolen...
I would say option a is far far better.

You can do this via the trading post website.
Can't find the QLD one, but maybe you can call them and ask about the QLD option.
