Valla 2004 - Important info!

Hey people..
Had a phone call from Liz, who most of us at Valla talked to whilst we were there.. Liz was from Radio National, part of the ABC, and ended up getting about 7 hours worth!! Needless to say, she was the one wandering around with the microphone and handbag looking thing, and I believe she was being convinced to buy a VW and at one stage was nearly converted!! Though she now tells me she doesn't own one..... yet.

She rang me to let me know if I could pass a few things onto the forum.
Firstly, when the end product will air..
It will first air on October 13, 2004, at 10.15am, on Radio National.
It will be repeated on October 16, 2004, at 5.30pm.

Liz also tells me that the whole thing will be both downloadable, and listenable using media players and the like, from their website: http://www.abc.net.au/rn/
She asked for me to put that link on, and agreed that she would do the same with ours, so hopefully that may result in an increase in membership, and hopefully then more positively contributing members.

The forum also has a good chance of getting exposure through the actual documentary, as I will be interested to hear even the little bits of the 7 hours worth in there!!

Andy, we had one in our camp, so there was probably so many pissed poms that she was confused..

We had had a few drinks by the time she came around, so God knows what I said.. It was obviously okay..

Here's the latest.. An email from Liz..

Hi Jim,
I have given the aussie vee dubers site and your email to the ABC techs so they will put it onto the site.
The site the program will be at is
http://www.abc.net.au/rn/history/streets/

The program stays there for a few weeks and then the text stays for months.
If you have any digital photos that you would be happy to put on the ABC site can you please email them to me or my producer who is taranto.claudia@abc.net.au we would need them by lunch tomorrow (wed) though because the page is being built wed arvo.
The play dates have changed too, to next week. So it is playing Wed the 6th of Oct at 10.15 am and Sat the 9th at 5.30pm.

good to hear, and will make sure to listen out for the report. my better half gave liz a taste of cruisin the streets in nambucca in a splitty with the safari's open. apparently she enjoyed it a lot.

Umm.. Not sure, I was told we'd be able to d'load it. This doesn't seem the case at this stage..

Just gave a listen.. nice to hear the pissed campers on there, as well as a few other members of the forum.. Thought it was a little short, but good all the same, and seemed to capture the moment alright..

yeah, not bad - shows most VW people to be slightly eccentric...which is probably correct! :P 😀
