Although they do occasionally come up for sale, not many people go to the trouble of lifting the body off the pan, and then selling the best bit - the pan!! You might have to get a whole car OR convert a manual/non IRS pan

Do many people weld on the IRS rear end from a Supers to a 1500 Beetle chassis ?
My Son has one that a young fellow did a few years ago and was then killed in an accident, so it was never used..
He has it attached to a 1969 Baja body....
Looks like a BIG JOB to Me......

Yep. But we start with a Type 3 rear end because it's easier. I've done this conversionnn[ Edited on 9-7-2005 by VWCOOL ]

it is easier to weld on a ball jiont / king and link frame head to a super pan that is all ready irs
VWCOOL ·
yeah... that's another way of skinning the cat, but you need two chassis for that and then your car must be regoed as a Super...

buy 1 frame head from mick motors
