Help! My Internet Hates Me!

ok. i got onto the net today after work and find that i can't get anywhere normally. Whenever i type an address in the address bar it just takes me to some heretofind.com page that does nothing. I can't even get onto google. the only way i can get around is by finding links to pages. I've tried all my antivirus and spyware programs (AVG, Adaware, Spy sweeper) and it hasn't changed. I'm running out of ideas and i'd see if you guys'd know. All of my internet settings SEEM to be ok. dunno.

Sounds like you have been attacked........


Go to your control panel...(Click Start and then settings...)

Go to add and remove programs......

Go down the list and see if you can fint it in there.

Then remove it.....

After that go to you Interent options and change your homepage back to whatever you had it as...

That crappy heretofind.com is what is known as a browser hijacker. In general this type of program makes a change in your Windows registry to the default web page prefix of http:// so that it directs you always to their website. If you do a search on "heretofind.com" through Google I'm sure you'll find many others who have experienced the same problem and they will have probably posted suggestions for a fix. Cheers..Scott

YEAH! YEAH! Thank you Kom123! All i found on google was ways to manually remove it untill some guy on a forum mentioned CWShredder and a link to it. now it's bye ye bad stuff and back to aussieveedubbers.com! YAY!

There is a program called "Hijack this" that can fix that.

Also try computercops.com (?)

nope. no it's not.:o:cry using HijackThis to try and fix it. really really pissing me off. and every now and then my homepage gets changed to some porn ones. not cool! have to keep trying....

Download and run "ad-aware 6" by lavasoft or "spy sweeper" by webroot. They should remove all these programs.

i have both of them.

get the new adware se or something and update your antivirus
and scan your pc
try updating ie
