There's abeautiful dark red bug for sale, it's on Burwood Highway, near Warrigal Road, near Emmaus College.
It's a '63 if I remember correctly, but it's been restored... The interior is leather, beautiful condition, not a scratch, Wolfsburg badge on front, in the back is a dual carby engine, (not sure what CC, etc.), but everythings very shiny and polished, and looks fantastic.
Very good looking bug, going for $26k. If you want more details, Let me know!

Nah, I don't have any pics, it is a dealership car... Apparently they've spent over $60k restoring her... BS I think. You can buy bloody 20 beetles for that price, and I doubt it'd take you 20 beetles to get the parts to fix her up
But she's a rather beautiful little bug, got some sort of a tank in the front 'boot', but I'm not sure what that is... But she's a beautiful little car...
And no, noboxes, no extras, no nothing. But I'm pretty sure she'd have to come with a warranty and be in perfect shape for that amount

26k for a beetle itd want to be gold plated, run on 150 mpg with 500 horsepower, and power windows. somebody get some pics!

It's defianately 26k. ikts a dealership, theyre somewhat enthusiastic..
It's got some gold plating around the fanbelt area I think... On the fanbelt pulley, it looks gold/brass.

It's back again at Penfold Mazda Used Cars... Also, heading away from Melbourne there's also a handful of bugs in an empty lot all bearing "For Sale" signs.

I have photos... very nice bug... love the colour... unfortunately my sister has the digital camera cable... so i won't be able to put em up here till late tonight or tomorrow morning...
the details on the car...'56 oval window... highly modified 2 litre engine..interior looks very nice, porsche steering wheel.... guy says he wants 30k for it!!!! no bargaining...he expects someone to pay that for it... apparently had 50k spent on it...
Kippa dee you might be more interested in the 4 bugs in the empty car lot i saw... I took some photos of them too...however I'm not sure who you'd contact on them... they were behind a locked fence and no one else was around...there was a black beetle there that looked pretty cool and some later bugs that looked in good nick...
so yeah theres some details and i'll try and get pics up soon..

30k for an Oval! Mate if you're the owner and you're on here you are dreaming. Oh my gosh I am peeing myself. Sure it may be a sweet ride, and he might want to recoup on his investment, but sheesh. Good luck to him if he can find someone to buy it - because in every likelihood whoever would know what an Oval is - would be on this site anyway - and know what it is really worth.
I think I'll go and lie down.......

He's certainly become more enthusiastic... I was quoted $26k with $60k spent on it :blah obviously changing his mind as he goes.
Apparently the dealership bought it from some guy coz he wanted a daily driver and this bug was costing him too much.. Bah!

I think this dealer actually does need someone to laugh in his face and tell him a few home truths. Then maybe the price will drop. It will be a pity to see this baby sitting in some dealers showroom then getting taken out every lunchtime to pick up the mechanics lunch orders.

well you never know...someone who doesn't know anything about dubs might go in there looking for another car and be swept away by it.. it is very beautiful... lol if its still there in a few month or so i'll pop in and offer to take it off their hands for them 😀

No idea... w00t w00t w00t! If I find a VW Beetle covered under Warranty (3 or 4 years) My folks might let me buy it! Yeah!!!
Now I just need to find a dealership beetle with 3 years warranty.. yipe.
Do any dealerships offer warranty on such old cars/allow you to purchase a warranty?

Those Beetles in the lot belong to Volkspower 03 9808 6777. They will be selling from that lot in the near future.

i saw this beetle at show a few years back and if i remember correctly the back window was grafted in, its not an original oval.
they did a good job of grafting in the dash and H panel aswell then.
still not a $30k car though

yep thats it all right... they definately did a good job with grafting the oval window in as well as dash... not that I'd really be able to tell I haven't seen many ovals up close.....the sales guy did advertise it as a '56 oval ...
kippadee I'd contact volkspower about those dubs then ... I'm pretty sure they'd arrange with you to get a short warranty on them ...

The black 60s Bug Reg "Vuidub", saw the actual car at Volkspower, pretty cool, the interior is like Louis Vuitton Monogram. lol 😀

Yeah I think I saw that 30K bug in the Mags, in VW Performance Centre Ad...
but common, 30K I rather build my very own Custom "dream" ride with anything I like in it, I'm sure after spending 30Ks, you won't wana drop in a cent into that car, and it looses the whole purpose of owning a VW, keep adding new stuff in 🙂

Volkspower is selling a fair few bugs, but all over $7k... Do they negotiate or just sell for ridiculous prices as a rule?

You have bad info there Kippa Dee, the cars start from 4.5k with a RWC, 12 months reg and a warranty. The ones over 7k are worth that.
