This is my 65 beetle Wolf. Photo was taken on my first cruise (which was to Arthur's Seat). Sooooooooo... 3 years ago maybe? And... its when he was shiny LOL.
Since then the paint has become increasingly more decrepit, and he is now under restoration at Vollkommen Art in Clayton (going back to where he was born, to be reborn).
I've had him since September 97, before that he was my grandpas for 15 years.
In the 5 years I have owned him I have been gradually making improvements. I now have a 1600 dual port engine, recon 1200 gearbox, overhauled brakes, converted to 12 volt with alternator and 009 dizzy. Oh.. plus the American spec headlights (bit of a running joke...).
This is what the paint looked like before he went in for the resto...

Jay, sorry about the poor quality of the pics. The settings in the camera had been changed and all the pics I took came out with a bluey tinge.

Than is a beautiful bug you've got there Jay. I know I'm into heavily modified bugs but a fully restored original still arouses the senses. A car definately worth smiling about. 😀

Jay, I'll bring a CD of all the 1600x1200 originals when we do something about Mr Fasty.
Since it's white, it's now a wolf in sheeps clothing 😀

I doubt the Dog will look as good as your wolf but I love my dog as much as you love yours, cept it's just not as shiny!
I'm glad it's all come together (literally) for you, and in time as well. Can't wait to have an in person perv. The paint,chrome and carpet work looks brilliant. Great Job.

My mate Larry was on the Apollo Bay cruise . He has very good eye for detail.
He described your car as restored to Brand New in every detail. Even down to the degree of gloss of internal paint.
He was really "taken " by the headlining.

Jay, I saw that being restoed at Volkommen, Saw how much work was put in! Now I see the car around a bit, and looks better everytime i see it!
BTW Is that the original fuel cap, or did the boys throw that in for you?

N - The original fuel cap was gone when I got the car, I was given one by a friend, and between Nick and George and I, it somehow went AWOL during the last rush weeks... the guys found me a replacement from somewhere...

Jay has the cap got a tiny little dint in it! Cause if it does, Well its the one I gave the guys, when I noticed yours wasnt on there!!!! I had a couple freshly chromed, and didnt need them all, so Passed one on to the boys!!!!

Most cars have things that aren't correct for that model and I still like the look of the car... But "WOLF" ... its like going back to 1964 and looking at a 1200 deluxe Beetle.. White wall tyres.. Great... I love it... and under the bonnet.. UNREAL !! Good One Jay..... it must have cost a packet.... If My 68AutoBug looks half as good when its finished , I'll be satisfied...

Unity: Yeah I work in Abbotsford, don't get to Victoria St much any more, I've moved house from Sandringham to Ringwood.... head north instead of south now.
