hey all.. got a 68 beetle.. came with no seatbelts in the rear.. and has never had them.. untill today.. once i put them in, they have to stay don't they?

i'd like the beetle to be a bit safer for passengers in the back..

but i also want the oldeskool look.. with rear belts take away from this?

yeh i'm pretty sure that once they are installed they have to stay in there. but no, i'm putting them in my type 3 too.
i want to be safe with all the yobbos driving around nowadays!

exactly🙂

had some woman in a merc nearly run me off the road the other day.. i was changing lanes (gradually, not sharply) and the thought she'd try to beat me into the lane.. scared the bejesus outta me :|

yeh..
i remember driving with dad (L plates on) and i was in the left hand lane of a 3 lane highway. and there was a car in the emergency lane up ahead. i was doing about 100km and this car pulled out when i was about 35m from them. i hit the brakes, changed down a gear, swapped lanes and tooted as i passed them. then this asian lady who was the driver, came up beside me and had the nerve to swear at me in chinese while going down the highway. (i've got a few asian mates and i swore back at her in cantonese and she looked like a stunned mullet!!)
either way, she was bloody lucky that i've got very good brakes in the golf...

I have had a similar thing happen, guy pulled out on a country drive, I was in a 4wd with a the race car and all the spares, just braked and waited to see if I would hit them.
