be your self, ready all the selection critera well before you go in.

I had an interview 2 weeks ago and have another wens so know how you feel.

as bix said be yourself and you will have no problems

and always put a possitive thing on things. Eg if asked what is your worst area. Reply would be be " my weakest area would be XXX, but i have indetifed this and have gone on courses V, B and C and concertrated on doing G and H and have noticed a improvement in this area"

Good preparation can improve your chances of successfully applying for a job. There is some helpful advice on the following web page and in particular, going through the commonly asked questions can help you be more relaxed for what may crop up during the interview:

Good luck and hope this is of some help 🙂

The "worst area" question is tricky, as is "do you have any questions for us?"

I like to say a positive thing in a negative way. For example, "my worst feature is that I work too much and I tend to be a perfectionist." Don't make it to be too bad, or it really will be a negative against you.

For any questions, ask about the organization, it's aims and its goals and be open ended about your questions. Ask "I've been to your web site, and I've found out blah blah blah, but what's your plans for the future?" and similar. Don't ask administrivia like "who handles the superannuation" or other stuff... unless it's really really important to you. Take an active interest in the organization and find out about them before you go. Unless you don't want the job, don't ask tricky or difficult questions like "how much of the proceeds go to administration?".

Anyway, be a bit early to the interview, dress conservatively unless you know the organization, and go for a chat, not an interview. Be yourself, and you'll be fine.

Good luck!

good luck! My only advice would be to be professional, dont lie about anything, think before you open your mouth and smile alot but dont grin like a fool!

and maybe donate some money to the Smith foundation tonight!

my $0.02's worth!

THANKS GUYS ALL THIS HELPED A HEAP. wENT REALLY WELL I'm happy with it if I dont get the job it's not because I didnt put my best foot forward. By the way only 3 people were short listed for interview so I have a 3 in 1 chance, I kinda like those odds.
When asked the question how do I handle new challenges etc and give an example of a new challenge etc I used building my beach buggy as an example of course I also mentioned a few work related ones as well

good to hear ducky

if you get too nervous, just start casually removing your clothing and comment on how the smell of rotting flesh annoys you profusely.............
............or not.:repuke

Damn.. Missed this thread, and don't by any means pretend to know it all, but I am an employment consultant.. :duh

Bit late, but for what it is worth...
1. Eye contact and manners are still extremely important in interviews.
2. Attitude, positive, bubbly..
3. Preparation = Confidence
4. Prepare 3 or 4 questions for the end.. Very important you ask at least one, and considering some may be answered during the interview, you will still have one or two left. These can be as simple as uniform questions, car parking, or even smaller things like starting times..

There's plenty more, but I won't bore you.. sorry I was late.
