Finally got my arse into gear and started nailing this beast back together.For those who don't know the old floorpan went a weeee bit rusty and basically fell to pieces. Started last Wednesday and hope to drive it to Brisbane at the end of this month.I work better under pressure.......

It looks alot like a Brad pan. It's steel checker plate, 2mm from memory so not much difference in weight to a stock pan but much stronger.

MikeM...just coming for a visit.If you send me a password for the Manx site i will post there as well. The pan is a little heavier than the original one but well and truely makes up for it in strength. Yes Brad made the pan and it was well made. It has a adjustable link pin front and IRS adjustable rear end (CUSTOM OFFROAD) and 3 inch body stiffener as well. The engine is a 1916 Pobjoy(not steroid) and the injection kit is a redline webber with 48mm throttle bodies. I get to spend from 8 till midnight working on it so I've decided to pull me finger out and get it finished!!!!Will post more pics nightly. Hope to get the body on in the next 2 days......

Sat the body on tonight to have a looksy......BLOODY HIGH!!!! A lot higher than it used to be and it is set on the lowest settings....hopefully it will sink down a bit when my fat arse drives it around a bit....

The rear tyres are Toyo Tranpaths 10.5R15.The fronts are Cooper 205/75/15. Don't know the price of the centipedes but the Micky Thomsons Baja Claws are only about $260 each fitted.

I have recieved a lot of question re the EFI. Check the link below for any details. I will not be disclosing what I paid for this that or the other as it gets depressing sometimes...🙁
I will be re gelcoating the shell at some time....gotta get it all going first.I've already got the gelcoat etc but the weather up here is crap at the moment so I'll hafta wait and see if it gets done, before the end of the year hopefully.Time will tell....might just make it a rat body????

IT RUNS!!!!!!!! Finally got the EFI sorted and started it at midnight!!!! Still needs to be tuned...the laptop batteries were flat so whenever i get to it i s'pose...It is running a bit rich so the mice in the shed are on a high at the moment but the biggest difference i've noticed so far is the instantanious throttle response:thumb Cant wait to play with it a bit more😉 Just got to bolt the body down and install the seats/bonnet and off i go!!!! NEW Blaster coil....top has blown off covering everything in oil (it IS a blaster coil......) They reckon there have been a few with faults and will happily bring a new one over tomorrow and install it.....Just another setback....

the exhaust setup is just a standard baja exhaust from Mick Motors.The tailpipe will be cut off and changed as the original position sucks.

I had the same exhaust on my baja. My advice is to throw away that muffler now, and put a 2" lukey or similar on there. That stock muffler is such bad quality. Mine rotted out fairly quick, then a backfire literally blew it apart.
You can get good 2nd hand turbo and stock mufflers (from people upgrading) out of exhaust shop bins. Just ask if you can jump in their bin and have a dig around. I've never had any say no to me. 🙂

oh, and that stock muffler is quite restrictive. You can get stock commodore style mufflers which are just as quiet but flow heaps better.

The high presssure pump is under the surge tank Craigy...the low pressure pump is under the master cylinder to feed the surge tank and help recirculate the fuel through the tank..which apart from being very noisy it does very well.😎 STILL waiting for the surge tank to be returned in a non leaking capacity....:cry

I use a facet as my LP recirculating pump. It works fine. I put a restriction in it's outlet hose to give it a little pressure to push against which really quietens it down.

Is on the dyno as i type!!! Had a problem with the ECU (Weber) so have put in the LINK ecu and it is getting tuned now!!! Sounded great and the throttle response still "excites"me!!!! HAPPY:bounce
